My least favorite class was Health, a required class in junior high school, in which we had to listen to propaganda against smoking (tobacco or marijuana), drinking alcohol, and sex before marriage. The last topic included slides of the effects of what are now called STD's (then called venereal diseases). It was segregated by gender, boys only with a male gym teacher showing us the disgusting slides of diseased genitals.
What is your favorite thing about your current job?
Having extra time to rest having breakfast, going to my favorite lunch place, and playing Hangman lol.
What's with all the rain lately from Mother Nature?
Maury Wills
He was a superb defensive shortstop, an excellent hitter for average, a durable player who rarely went on the injured list, and, above all, he was the FIRST player to ever steal 100 bases in a season. He belongs in the Hall of Fame. He lived to be 89 years old and it is a DAMNED SHAME that he wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame before he died in 2022. I curse the members of the BBWAA who failed to vote him into it.
Who is the most overrated baseball player in your opinion?
Cal Ripken, Jr. The streak is amazing (I have my own running streak) so I appreciate it but I felt sometimes they made him out to be one of the greatest baseball players in history like on the level of legends like Mickey Mantle.
Who will win MVP this year in AL/NL?
I hate to make predictions, but I will guess Aaron Judge in the AL and Mookie Betts in the NL.
Actually, I will be happy with Betts, Freeman, or Ohtani.
(Looking at that list causes me to wonder if any other team ever had three big stars of three different races.)
