Origins of your sceen name...

In Finnish mythology, a wild, ill-humored spirit who wanders through the forests looking for trespassers to tickle to death.

......my "handle" is not directly connected to the wild west. It has to do with my interest in WW2 history (currently being re- written by Neutron to give the impression it was won single handedly by the U.S. which most Americans think is true anyway) and more specifically the Battle of Britain.

The common term used by Allied pilots having sighted the enemy was "Bandits at Two O,clock" or more usually "Tally Ho!" which is taken from an old English fox hunting term. However, the German pilots equivalent term in the same situation was "Red Indian!" So I decided to use it as my handle.
That's not only fascinating, but one of the coolest name-origins I've heard to date! Thanks for sharing!

No way! Is that true, or did you just make that up?

hmm to explain my screen name, when I went to sign up with the tmf, I figured a large amount of names I might have used would already be taken so decided I would try something I doubt anyone would take.

I play a role-play game called vampire the masquerade, and within the game, the creator of a main vampire clan is called "Haqim" (I probably even have the spelling wrong lol). It wasn’t taken so here I am 🙂

Scary thing is I have had a few message's and pm's within the chat room with people making the connection of my screen name.

I like this thread! I don't post so often, so the origin of my screen name is probably as intertesting to you guys as the color of your cousin's tablecloth. But I'll tell ya anyway.

Waitaminute, I don't have to tell you, because you've already figured it out, haven't you? You're right. In high school, my favorite band in the world was The Boomtown Rats. I was a Geldof freak. I still am, to a certain extent. Nowhere near as obsessive as I was back then, though.

And 13, as well as being such a fascinating magic type of number, happens to be my birthday. (I'll be 34 in two 13's from now.)

I was watching TV with a ticklee from this forum a couple years ago when we saw a commercial for the new show Boomtown. I was heartbroken. I was sure that was the end of my long-running screename. Thank Christ the show tanked.

Too long? I'll shut up now.

...Mine should be fairly obvious....Name comes from the babinski reflex."...The big toe points to the top of the foot while the rest of the toes fan out when the bottom of the foot is firmly stroked. If this happens after the age of two, its considered a sign that something is nuerologically wrong with the patient.." Named after the discoverer Joesph Francois Felix Babinski (1857-1932)................
"Any questions? Any answers?"

OMG I am HUGE fan of Bobby Geldof. The most exciting concert event of my life was getting to attend Band Aid in Philly. (I won a contest!)

XOXO

My name is relatively self explanitory too. For about 3/4 of my life (15 years) I have been a pianist with occasional ventures into the violin, singing and drummering (the only one that I have kept interest in).

However, due to the surgery that I'm gonna have to do for my left wrist soon... and my increasingly major ventures into composing, perhaps I need to change my name to something like:

The Artist Formerly Known As The Pianist

🙄

I will endeavour to get up to speed with playing the piano again after this whole saga has died down... besides, I'd hate to let both of my favourite pastimes that require intricate movements of my huge and skillful fingers suffer so early in my career.

LOL Haven;t you now? 😉 Damn Asimites! Go diablorize someone eh? 😉

My screenname is quite simple. I chose to remain a floating and anonymous and amorphous form 😉 AND I am a student of the paranormal, the afterlife ect.

That and anyone who knows me/has seen me knows in the words of one of my dearest mates " You're as pale as your handle on the TMF) 😉

I figured this was a really cool thread, so I thought I'd join in... Alot of people think my name comes from Batman... which isnt entirely wrong. It actually came from one of my college football coaches... we decided to wear all black uniforms for one of our home games. As we were about to go warm up, he was yellin and hollerin, trying to get us all jacked up... he kept calling us his "dark knights".. and it just kinda stuck. The numbers came from 5 being my lucky number, and 77 was my jersey number... Anyway, that's my story.

Well, my name comes from two sources.
1)if you're a wrestling fan, growing up I watched the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, and he was my favorite wrestler. So much so, growing up I thought I was Ric Flair. I copied his mannerisms, his style, and throughout high school they called me the "Nature Boy"😛

2)Because I am such a master at tickling, it comes naturally. Thereby goes the name: Natural Tickler😛

Hope it explains it for ya. If not, oh well, such is life🙂
ohhhhh! that explains why your a jabroni, ya michigan candyass fan you! lol

my name comes cause A) i like stomachs/navels B)13-my old baseball number, track number, it was omar vizquels(one of my fave players in baseball ever!) number and Dan Marinos (fave qb!) number. 50 old football number and Highschool track number.

Wraith- A supernatural specter or entity- usually marked as being ghost like, flowing and black.

See also Ringwraiths and JRR Tolkien.

Tickler- sounded more aesthetically pleasing than ticklee, but I still enjoy giving a good tickle every now and then. :evilha:

Believe It or Not...

Well, I was watching the Smurfs one day... as a very, very little boy. I thought the name sounded cool, but that cat was annoying as hell. Then, I realized that every character on the Smurfs is annoying as hell, except for Gargamel (but only whilst he's giving his little introductory incantation, the one that destroys everything, in the theme; the rest of the time, he's annoying as hell).

Somehow, the name stuck with me, and one day when I was 21 I spontaneously remembered it (along with its previous association) and decided to look it up (to see if it had any cooler associations than a cat, which is annoying as hell). I happened to be in a library at the time, and I went to the section that nobody goes to and started looking through the books that nobody looks at.

Y'know... the encyclopedias of witchcraft (not Wicca, there was none of that at the time), the books that talk about how the Bible admits the existence of other gods and Jesus' wife and son, etc. etc. Strangely enough, in the conservative farmtown I was living in at the time, one of the local library's 10x10 sections was filled with them. They were even dusty, because nobody but me ever went into that section, and it was dark, because nobody had changed the light bulb in about fifty years, because nobody but me ever went into that section. And, I wouldn't touch the light bulb. Because it was dusty. Anyway.

So, I started going through all these books about popular demons who don't really exist in any actual mythology that're typically invoked in ceremonies amongst teens pretending to be evil witches out in the woods in the middle of the night *catches his breath* And I didn't find Azrael. Which was good. I didn't need another un-cool affiliation. Annoying as all hell.

So, I started going through a book about the apocryphal texts... those are the books that the Jews left out of the old testament two thousand years or so before the Christians did the same thing with the new testament, which was causing a big fuss at the time. "This happened once before, two thousand years earlier, and nobody seems to be aware of it," struck me as being moderately cool, so I started reading at length. I found some interesting things, amongst them the only sacred text that actually talks about Lucifer falling from Heaven and becoming the Devil, except that it wasn't a sacred text because the Jews left it out of the old testament. Darn them. I also found mention of Azrael. Apparently, Azrael is the name of an Islamic archangel, but before that, he was one of the major demon-king types in the apocryphals.

So, Azrael was the name of an ancient demon prince, in a forgotten text, from a people who were doing such things at the time as trying to conjure spirits and create automatons out of clay. Very cool. I used the name to register with TMF purely out of time-association, because a week later I tried to register somewhere else with it and found out that some stupid 16-year-old chick was using the name... and that it was associated with some annoying-as-hell anime chick because the Japanese don't know shit about anybody else's mythology (don't even dare complain about me saying that, they're rolling in money from it. I'm dirt poor, I'll say what I want, they can sue me for my two cents, and I'll give it to them all over again).

That was thoroughly uncool, so I never used the name again. Gwah.

Azrael, who has a Chip on his Shoulder, whatever the hell that means.

Well, let's see. I played baseball and football growing up and played football in college. I became a Fitness Trainer , when I left college and now sell fitness equipment, such as treadmills and home gyms.
And I do believe tickling, like fitness, is a life style and not a fad. 😎

The guy who got me into tickling (to whom I will forever be in debt for)... called me his "kitten" as a nickmane and before long I became "tickle kitten". When I signed up for here I never actually planned on posting but what the hey, I'm now ticklkitten for life.

Mine comes from the fantasy of if I ever won the Lottery I would buy a Tickles Hotel where there would be plenty of tickling, tickles handed out along with the keys to the rooms🙂 .. This hotel would be filled with the sounds of laughter, giggles as you enter the revolving doors 🙂,and the sign by the pool would read " enter at your own risk !, lurking ticklers circling underneath & at surface " 😀 Also, just a note..this hotel you could make reservations to stay a night or weekly or stay permanately as tenant:devil: That's my story & and I'm sticking to it🙄

Sure thing 🙂 Actually funny true thing is,I actually live in a hotel suite in a hotel that furnishes kitchenette, microwave, free cable, utilities, internet, full size refrigerator for $155.00 a week for myself and 2 others..I'm telling you,If I ever do win the lotto I will have enough to buy this hotel ,which has about 450 rooms 🙂..kinda small compared to larger hotels ,cozy and in a great area close to Hooters, applebees, chili's ,alot of shopping, and freeway 🙂..I wish that I could win the Lotto myself to make my dream a reality or even that movie " it can happen to you " with that lady and nicolas cage happen to me 🙂.

"Featherfingers" is pretty self explanatory. I've always been told that I have a very gentle touch. I thought feathers were very good for gentle touching ... my fingers are my main tickling tools, therefore "Featherfingers" was created.
