partial birth abortions

Bottom Line: It's the woman's choice. I do happen to believe that there are certain circumstances for it to be necessary for an abortion, but it should obviously be carried out in a quick matter so a pba is not necessary. However, I do also think that one should take responsibility for one's actions. If you yourself independently chose to have intercourse with someone, especially without a condom, then you really have no justification for carrying out this process.
Another thing that I find a little interesting about the whole abortion subject is the Catholic church. It is interesting that they tell us women that we will be excommunicated for partaking in an abortion. Just curious, who runs the Catholic church? MEN. Which gender has an absolute inability to give childbirth? MEN. So who the f*** are these priests to tell us to abstain and all that crap when the only sexual experience they've ever had has been with a ten year old altar boy?

my answer to ttd's question

in this hypothetical situation that ed postulated, i's cut that sucker out and kill it quicker than crap through a goose.

cs21...; i have no love for the catholic church! but i think that if a woman get's an abortion and the husband was agreeing to have it done, he then is also thrown out with his murdering spouse. i find it refreshing though, that you feel that if a person is going to have unprotected sex, that they should pay the price for their indiscretion. i feel the man that had unprotected sex should also be responsible for raising the child.

Query - why not just stop procreation for a few generations? quit polluting this world with the tread of unnecessary feet. ah, the life of monastic seclusion, blow up dolls, and jizzmoppers ahoyhoy!😀 -

ah, i kid. i kid because i hate! so, very, very, very full of hate. a wonderful emotion, it brings a vigour to all religions and philosophies! i strongly suggest they bottle hatred in pills and sell it to stressed executives!😛

on topic, i believe that in cases of rape and incest (or both) p.b.as are acceptable. but only then. other forms of abortion, such as pre-fetal abortion are acceptable when contraception fails. of course, in these cases i would also advocate restraint, and hate the stupid, stupid people who don't protect themselves. damn sluts and man-*****s! although jesus would have forgiven them. pious little bastich he was. :sowrong:

however, for those who want p.b.a's or any post-fetal abortion merely as a convenience, i would say yes, of course...provided you allow yourself to be sterilised/have your tubes tied. heheheeee....

-i don't hate jesus, but i'm sure he would have been royally pissed at the catholic church! white jesus indeed...hah!-

Say, it was possible to literally see into the lifetime of someone just prior to birth. It is seen that this, yet to be born, person to be, will be of no use to the human race. A rude, crude, abusive, nasty worthless piece of pond scum that will grow to be a "terrorist" who will murder thousands(maybe someone in YOUR family or life in general)? By "aborting" the birth of this, 'thing" you will save all those lives and anyone/anything related to them.

Forgoe logic here.....give your mind some room to roam.

What would you do?

As much as it pains me to say it, let it live. Why? Because if you kill that child, due to what it may or will become later in life, you are basically succumbing to Hitlers ideas of a Master Race. You are removing something or someone that could 'tarnish' our ideal world through traits we find unappealing. It's a no win situation, but if you give in to the temptation to do off with it before it can do any harm itself, you are ethically no better than what that child will become itself.

And it's also the same organisation that won't let it's members use condoms. Basically a woman's duty is to park her arse at home, drop a sprog evry 12 months and make sure her man is well looked after. Nice to see the church has kept up with an evolutional society all these years, isn't it?

Bravo! Well said Meemster!

I am very glad to see that I am not the only one who sees how corrupt this religion is becoming. I had the unfortunate privilege of attending a Catholic High School, and I do have quite a bit of animosity towards it. Steve and Big Jim, you both understand what is going on in this religion, and it is AWESOME to see that I am not the only one to stand up and speak out against it! DAMN THE MAN!

I certainly do not have much love for the RC Church, but this does not extend to "normal" cathlolics whose company I enjoy, nor is it sectarian. For those who are not familiar with my (very well publiscised) views on religion, I regard just about every major religion in the world as being totally false. Please do not feel offended by my earlier crack if you are a catholic. I mean no offence to you personally and am fully aware just how corrupt ALL organisations of churches can be.

Peace.

here's an idea..

this thread isn't about religion, and not about abortion in general.
this is about the unconscienable practice of p.b.a.
hey jim how about starting a new thread about religion? what the heck, with both christmas, and chanukah only a month away, let's step on some toes, and ruffle a few feathers?(ohh i said feathers! now i'm thinking about tickling damn it!).

There were 2,200 partial birth abortions done in the US in the year 2000.

There are something like 260 to 280 million people already in the US. I'm fine with this ratio.

Okay, I'm going to be totally Devil's Advocate here, so please don't anyone take my next question literally.

OJ, I'm not sure exactly what you mean. You don't comment on PBA's on a moral case, just whether or not they stand likely to de-populate the country. Does that mean if only a couple of thousand people were shot in the head in 2000, you'd be okay with it?

What is your stance on it as a moral issue?

i guess my previous response was deleted..

..so i'll try again.
oddjob, you say that the pba killing of 2200 babies a year is ok with you, due to the population of america being in the area of 260,000,000 to 280,000,000. big jim had already asked you to explain on a moral basis, so i'll only add that i find this kind of loose morality to be frightening! i'm appalled that you think so little of human life. you've lost points in my book.
