1918, wow. Something like 3/4 of silent films are lost forever, so to have this as an early mainstream entry makes it a real rarity. A cursory glance at YouTube turns up a couple of other quick moments in black and white films, but for Buster Keaton to be in one is a joy.

There are tickles going back to George Melies films of the early, early 1900s. As far as earliest here on the forum, there's stuff that goes back at least to 1913 and 1914, including a Mabel Normand clip. I never posted any of the George Melies clips (and others from that early period) because they're usually small and quick, and often just fingers under a girl's neck.
