Let me see if I understand this, if a teacher had sex with a student, then she is suspended with pay, but if the receptionist/clerk makes a video with 1 (or more) consenting adults she is suspended with out pay? I am not defending her decision to go into porn while working in a school, but come on. Suspend her while you are figuring out what to do about it, sure, but at least let her have a pay cheque. I’m not even sure they should fire her, after all the are million dollar athletes who do allot worse things, and they get to keep there million dollar jobs, why shouldn’t she.

I don't know, I just don't think what she did was that bad compared to some of the so called "heroes" kids look up to in sports. Michael Vic kills dogs and that’s ok, but a secretary makes a porn and she could lose her job, that’s seems a little unbalanced in my opinion. If anybody should be investigated it's the parents of the kid who found her porn video on the internet, in the first place.

Here is a link to her scene from Serieal Abusers 2...

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. But society is completely irrational about anything that brings children and sexuality within a mile of one another. So I wish I could say I'm surprised.

It's funny how if a Male teacher has sex with a 16 year old girl he's a pedophile, but if a female teacher has sex with a 16 your old boy, he's a "player" and she's a "hot cougar." LOL, gotta love double standards.

The double standard of male/female sexual congress with children has largely to do with the fact that if you extend the same attitudes to women as you do men, then all the other stuff about men goes with it: gender roles, social responsibility, etc. In short, you can't accuse or perceive women as being sexual predators without eviscerating all of the moral, social, and political associations that we've built up about them.

Western society isn't built on gender equality...so if you tried to implement it, it would fall apart. Now I consider that a good thing, but many others would balk at that.

As for the secretary, they probably fired her because she isn't as high profile as a teacher would be. Fire the teacher and you'd have a fight on your hands...a secretary is likely to be ignored more easily. Also, since the secretary is part of the office staff, they probably decided to make an example of her so that people wouldn't fear that the adminstration itself was "corrupt" or "venal" or whatever other adjectives are used to describe people like us.

Link won't open for me, but based on how you've summarized, I call shenanigans. Is it likely to be in her contract with the school that she can't be in porn? There's nothing illegal here, or even relevant to her job as a secretary. She should sue their asses.

Yup. Because after national press exposure like that, she's reeeeeeeeeally going to need that secretary paycheck.

I'd like to know what society has gender equality? The west, and a couple of places in Europe are as close as you are going to get. Anywhere else women are treated more like cattle then people. My motto is the same as my fathers, "Respect is earned not given", if everybody followed that there would be no such thing as inequality or bigotry of any sort.

Anyway, I am not trying to start a fight here (for once lol), I am simply pointing out that the west (with all it's flaws) is still a better place to live then most, and how women are treated is part why.

Need or not need, it's a matter of principle. If this were a teacher they wouldn't suspend her with out pay, and that is my point. Mind you if it was a teacher, based on what they make in Canada, she would be nut's to make a porn movie. Then again I am not sure what a school board secretary would make, but I would guess it's no where near a teachers.

On the other hand (and I think this may be where you are coming from) something like this could make her a huge star in the Adult Entertainment Industry. If she doesn't have a contract with Pegas Productions she should probably try and get work with a major American group, or Pegas should do a film that exploits her connections to the school. She should do everything she can to cash in on this, since the school isn't paying her.

Well if there is a "morality clause" in a contract that she made with the Quebec School Board then their is a reason to fire her. I just think suspending her with out pay is wrong.

I may be wrong, but I doubt that a woman teacher would get away with having sex with an underage student anywhere in either the U.S. or Canada. When it comes to doing porn, I think I'm inclined to say that both teachers and secretaries should have their outside lives left alone as long as they themselves are not doing anything that causes it to affect their work. I felt particularly rankled by the case of a teacher getting fired for being in a porno flick, when it was only discovered because the headmaster had rented the film. Whatever rule applies to starring in porn should also, in my opinion, apply to watching it. I might be persuaded otherwise if I knew more.

But the matter-of-fact references to gendered double standards I find overdrawn and unsupported. Any time you see a case, and say "if this were a man it would be different," you get onto thin ice.

Yeah... Some people seem to think it's a law of physics that publicity brings money. Sometimes it brings money; other times it just brings stress and hardship.

I can't recall the exact times when it's happened, but there have been a few times when I have read about women teacher simply getting suspended (with pay) while male teachers were simply fired. The truth is there is a double standard when it comes to women preying on young males as opposed to men who prey on young females. If you don't believe that then you are kidding yourself.

It's a matter of Marketing, and what she is willing to do with the publicity. If she has a good agent she could end up the Franch-Canadain Jenna Jameson.

I call horseshit on this one. If respect is earned and not given, then why would I ever be nice or polite to anyone when I first meet them?

Hypothetically, I could be introduced to you for the first time, having never met or spoken and the exchange would go like this:

YOU: Hi, I'm _______
ME: Hi, suck my nuts fuckball.
YOU: WHAT?!
ME: You heard me dick-cheese.
YOU: What the fuck is you problem asshole?
ME: I don't have a problem fartblossom.
YOU: Why the fuck are you being so fucking rude?!
ME: 'Cause I just met you. You want my respect, you gotta earn it dipshit.

Respect can be LOST and then have to be EARNED BACK, but typically, we give respect as a given because otherwise we'd never be nice to anyone.

And as for "manners" and "politeness", I call DOUBLE horseshit. Manners and politeness are empty theatrical gestures. If you're nice and polite to someone you first meet but have no genuine respect and optimism for them, then you have no moral or empathic properties, and your reputation as a decent human being is based on a lie.

And as for my statement about Western society, I was only saying that as a specificity. I'm familiar enough with it that I can make that analysis. If I were talking about Middle Eastern or Asian, or Eurasian or African cultures, I would need more research before making an argument. But I agree that on the face of it, it can sound like a typical reactionary college student statement.

I see all your horseshit and raise 2 goat shits. You see if you did that you would prove yourself to be an ignorant and ill-mannered person who I would then have no respect for, regardless of who you were or what you've accomplished. You can't really say you respect somebody unless you have gotten to know them. Common Courtesy is for everybody, but respect has to be earned other wise it doesn't mean anything. In other words manners and politeness are an aspect of earning somebody’s respect, if you don't feel that way then maybe you are the one who is full of empty theatrical gestures. I'll have to remember that if I ever meet you at some sort of Fetish gathering, so I can avoid you.

By the way, if I ever introduced myself to somebody and they replied with "Suck My Nuts" I would punch them in the throat, unless I was at work, then I would just report them to the boss for their behaviour.

Common Courtesy is a way of pretending to be someone you may not be. By withholding respect until someone has earned it, you are withholding a resource to artificially increase it's value through exploiting someone else's need. It would be the emotional equivalent of refusing a glass of water to a guest until they are sufficiently thirsty to enhance their level of gratitude when you give it to them. It's a mercenary approach to life and to interpersonal relationships. It's also rather smug.

To say that respect is valuable in and of itself and must therefore be hoarded for those who deserve it shows contempt for others and an inflated sense of one's own importance.

Using that same metaphor, the idea of treating water as the valuable resource it is and giving it freely to another is a recognition of it's importance, and if the guest rejects it or abuses it, then they lose the respect that made you give it to them in the first place. They may have gotten the first free, but all the others afterward they have lost.

Now I would agree that you cannot ADMIRE someone until you get to know them, but you can respect them beforehand. And they, in turn can lose that respect through their behavior.

By the way, if I ever introduced myself to somebody and they replied with "Suck My Nuts" I would punch them in the throat, unless I was at work, then I would just report them to the boss for their behaviour.
Case in point: I would respect a complete stranger's life well enough to not kill them over a verbal insult, even if I considered my job a greater priority.

You used water, I'll use housing. Go into a neighbourhood where people who have gone to school, worked hard and own there homes live. See how well they take care of them? Now go into a housing project and look at the lack of care that is shown to it. Do you know why, because it was given and not earned. I would like to point out that this is not 100% thing there are many people who live in government housing who use it as it is meant for, a launching pad for something better (like finishing a Trade Apprenticeship so they can have a fairly decent life). However, in general people their kick in the walls, smash the windows and even burn them down because they don't appreciate it... and that is because they did not earn it.

In other words, Respect is earned not given, other wise it means pretty much nothing. But hey we all have our philosophies, I guess it's just a matter of what you and I ( or anybody else) were taught.

You also contradicted yourself with that Admiration comment...
Admiration: ad·mi·ra·tion/ˌadməˈrāSHən/Noun
1. Respect and warm approval.
