Well, concerning the stop of most renfaire tickling projects (Canelli, Casei Medievale, etc), the primary cause might be simply concerned with the pandemic.

While, with regard to the project of Stimulating Feet (Reflexology Researching), I personally think that its condition may be more complex.
For I've perceived the potential shift of its projectors' intention throughout years.
Specifically, the SF projectors might primarily intended to show the research-aimed productions of tickling their participants (when they just began launching the renfaire project & prior to that).
In the early time of their launch of the renfaire project, they'd made some adjustments about their tickling ways & tools on different participants, which showed some variety of their tickling ways & tools and of different participants reactions.
Such adjustments seemed to peak in 2024 when the name of their channel changed from 'Stimulating Feet' to 'Reflexology Researching'.
In the earliest footages of the current channel 'Reflexology Researching', the participants of the renfaire project tended to show some obvious ticklish reactions.
Even in one early footage, the RR ler tried to tickle a participant with her fingernails (and this participant only had obvious ticklish reaction when she's tickled by fingernails but not by the other tools):

However, since 2025, the newly shown footages have been presented consistently similar tickling ways with virtually the same tools.
Accordingly, the new participants have shown generally & significantly less ticklish reactions (especially in the footages that're published in the very late 2025 & 2026).

For me, such a significant shift of presenting scenes indicates a potential shift of the intention of the SF/RR projectors.
That is, those projectors have seemed to have their increasing intention of presenting the seeming non-ticklishness of the female participants.
On the other hand, they can still sell much money with such videos, because many men still enjoy just watching the females lees being tickled with no obvious ticklish reactions.

In a word, from 'Stimulating Feet' to 'Reflexology Researching', the projectors (of the renfaire project at least) have been likely to make their productions with an increasing intention of showing the fetish-related theme & the female participants' (seeming) toughness of resisting being tickled.
It's accordingly led to the SF/RR lers' increasing holding back or their tickling effect in the renfaire profect.
Anyway, these above are based on my personal speculation. I (and probably nobody) can offer any solid evidence for them.
So, I open to receive the disagreement on my speculation.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid I have to disagree with you and I simply think you have come to the wrong conclusion. Let me explain.

First of all, they made all their renfaire footage in 2022, and they haven't shown anything filmed after that year. So I don't think you can really talk about any shifts or adjustments in recent years, since all the footage was made during one year period. Of course, they made some modifications between those festivals in 2022, but when they started releasing their footage to the public in early 2023, they have already finished filming it.

As for them changing the name, I don't think it was done to reflect their change in attitude, but simply due to the fact that their channel and social media accounts are quite often banned and deleted. That's why at the moment their YouTube channel is called Reflexology Researching, but their X account, that haven't been banned and still has more of their recent previews, is still called Stimulating Tickling Feet. And their Instagram reappeared few times under different names. Also I suspect that they try to disguise their fetish content as some kind of research project, to avoid being flagged as porn videos, thus the words "reflexology" or "research" in their names.

So I would say they probably haven't quite thought it through and they haven't tested or learnt how to properly tickle someone to make them laugh. It is also highly likely, as some had suggested, that in reality very few people who are ticklish would volunteer to do it.

On the Simulating Feet fair videos, the whole point of the "game" is to stand the tickling and not to drop the balls they give the contestants. The people in the stocks are conciously attempting to block the tickling. Maybe not to supress the laughter itself, but i believe it matters anyhow.

On the Canelli videos or on the french fair videos, that is not the angle at all. Some of the women didnt event know they were going to be tickled until they saw the feathers, you can see it on the inmidiate reaction. Its a different situation all together.

Heck, on the Casei Medievale videos, the whole premise was that the most ticklish girls won the contest. And its some of the best content because of the intense reactions of the women involved.

If you sit in a set of stocks to be tickled and in one situation you are told you have to hold the tickling and in another that the most ticklish subject wins, your reactions are going to be waaaay different. Its quite posible some of the Casei Medievale girls are not as explosibly ticklish as they seem. And that some of the Stimulating Feet girls are more ticklish that they show.

Thanks, it has always been obvious to me that the Casei Medievale women were faking their reactions except for 2 of them (eg. they all screamed hysterically even when just sligthly grazed by feathers ABOVE their clothes, except for one who didn't react at all and another one who had believable reactions) but I could never understand why, now I finally get it.

Casei Medievale was a name of a festival. It was nothing special, there were tents, vendors, re-enactment groups, some tournaments, so the usual stuff. The "Tickle Troupe" participated in it and it was even quite a highlight of this festival. But unlike in Canelli, they weren't only tickling people for not buying tickets, but it was a whole show called "LA DISFIDA DELLE STREGHE". I once found the post describing the rules, so here it is (translated form Italian)":

Rules for the "Witches' Challenge" Game

For the 2015 edition of Casei Medievale, there will be an attraction partially tested last year, which has been incorporated as an integral part of this year's show.
The attraction, with its light-hearted and playful tone, is designed to further engage audiences who aren't necessarily exclusively interested in the fighting, but come to sample local libations and witness something different. At the same time, even those who usually "support" the actual warriors will have the opportunity to participate more actively in the event.

Therefore:

• Each group must nominate two (or even just one, depending on the number of registered groups) young and friendly volunteer witches who will be subjected to tickling torture on Saturday in the pillory. The audience will judge their laughter, screams, and cries of repentance for their witchcraft activities. • For small groups, it is possible to "borrow" volunteers from a friendly group; obviously, they cannot be the same ones competing for the native group.

• It is also possible to ask girls in the audience to voluntarily compete in the game under the aegis of the group; in this case, their scores will be averaged with those of the official contestants. This ploy serves to further engage the audience.

The challenge with all the contestants will take place on Saturday afternoon, to increase the attraction points during the event. Since the game only works well if the girls laugh and scream, any groups that provide unresponsive witches will be banished from the entire Oltrepò area for seven generations, their belongings confiscated, and their camps burned to the ground.

I'm not exactly sure what the controversy was, but some groups posted many photos from this evet, and my guess is some people started sending them creepy messages or demanding more footage. But as I said, I'm not sure if that was a case. Because otherwise it seemed that both viewers and woman being tickled really enjoy this, and I believe it continued till the covid pandemic.
