anyone find him to be...not funny? I went to see his new movie the change up and it wasnt good. I didnt like the just friends movie or the blade 3 film he did either lol. I found that dude HHH to be funnier then him. Maybe i just dont get his comedy 🙁

I think he's HILARIOUS in the Amityville Horror. 😉 😛 😀

I echo the Van Wilder sentiment. He's a man child. I find him goofy and not funny.

He was funny a decade ago. He's still a good actor, he just can't crack a joke to save his ass anymore.

SLIMMMER!!!!!!!

Amityville horror was torture because i had to sit through it because my friend was dying to see it lol

I find him funny as hell. Waiting was a great movie, and Van Wilder was funny. The movie he stared opposite of Sandra Bullock was good to. All comedy movies i've seen with him in it have been funny, though to varying degrees as with all movies.

I'm a HUGE RR fan, I've been following his career since he had a little sitcom in the '90's; Not only do I find him very attractive but I absolutely loved him in Just Friends and more recently in Buried. He's great as long as he has a good script, which he apparently hasn't been getting lately.

Ryan Reynolds IS funny, in my humble opinion....but he suffers from the problem many funny guys in Hollywood suffer from: They have to work with lackluster/crappy scripts.

Go read Ran Reynold's writings - he wrote an article once for Entertainment Weekly. Wonderfully witty and hilarious. Fantastic. And definitely written by him. I'm reading this and thinking, "Why can't we see THIS Ryan Reynolds in a movie?!" HE needs to write the damn movie! ...and not be constrained by the typical Hollywood paint by numbers Scriptwriting 101 rules that make every movie....look like every other movie!

Me and Lily Haze were agreeing in her thread in the images section recently, about how funnier the older comedians were.
With the way Hollywood has been for a long time, and it even affected movies back then, you could NEVER make a movie like the Marx Brother's "Duck Soup."

I think he's funny, but when he's thrown in a standard romantic-comedy....he's only as funny as he can push against the confines of the script handed to him.

I felt the same way about Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Kevin James, etc. You see them in a stand up, or interview, and they're hilarious......then you watch them in a movie, and you're like....ehhhh..that kinda sucked.....

And THIS is why Green Lantern bombed so bad - the script SUCKED. As did the music and most of the direction......
.....still pissed about that! GODDAMMIT!!! You find an excellent leading man in Ryan Reynolds, the perfect casting of Mark Strong as Sinistro, a fantastic Peter Saarsgard as Hector Hammond, shit, even Tim Robbins was a great choice... and then throw in a silly side-kick roomate, give him this ring and have him do.....almost nothing, just whine about how scared he is for half the movie....sheesh!!!

I hate how two out of those three are no longer with us. 🙁

Oh i dunno, the first time i watched Tommy Boy i laughed my ass off...

Ryan Reynolds is an excellent actor (watch The Nines and tell me
I'm wrong, I dare you) who gets saddled with typecasting and bad writing.

Ryan plays the same part in just about every movie.
Green Lantern was a very bad movie. I mainly blame the writers & director. They need to read more comic books before they write & direct a comic book movie.

Ryan is actually a very nice down to earth guy. I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with him during non-filming time in Manhattan. His humor seems to be more of the witty/sarcastic kind, which some may not get. Do I think he's funny? Kinda... I would say more entertaining than anything else.
