I have a bad habit of smoking. I was just wondering if anybody else here does.

No, I never smoked. One of my few healthy traits. 😀

I smoked for a very short time a long time ago. Then I saw a charred human lung taken from a cadaver who died from lung cancer, up close and personal. I threw my pack in the trash, and never lit up again. Seeing something like that makes quite the impact. Now I'm smoke free for over 18 years. Funny thing is, I never even CRAVED a cigarette again after seeing that...that...THING! 😎

I've been a pipe smoker for about 30 years. That may be unhealthy, but it helps me to stay sane. Hectic and pipe smoking are contradictions, it needs time and calmness. By now, this addiction is one the few joys of life I can cling to. Not much of a life, is it? :dropatear

No smokin' here. I gots a voice to take care of. Besides, the smell of cigarettes tends to trigger a migraine for me, and y'all know THAT's no fun at all! Once or twice a year though, I like to go with friends to a hookah bar in Pacific Beach called Sinbad's and smoke double apple sheeshah (I don't know how you spell that...). It's not got chemicals and it's usually not hot, coming from a water pipe. It tastes good, and if you're a lightweight like me, it can get ya buzzin' something fantabulous. Legally. And it's lovely, relaxing in a great setting... Ah, I miss home... Mwah!

I am mostly a social smoker. I average about 4-5 cigarettes a day. Once in a while at work, I enjoy going down for a cigartette just to get away from my work.

One thing I do enjoy is a good cigar. When I returned from Colombia, Jpie snuck a box of Romoeo y Julietta cubanos and I enjoyed every bit of them.

Ick! Blech! Caca!

Dat smokin' she be de devil's work, Bobby Boucher! 😉 😛 🙄 It's a habit I'm very grateful not to have picked up in the service... or from my father.

Yea im a heavy smoker..gonna be the death of me.

Like Hal, smoking helps me to relax and keep my sanity. Like everything else in life that can kill you (i.e. alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, good food, etc.), the key is moderation. I smoke Marlboro Light menthols, and a pack lasts me about 3 days, which I think is pretty darn good, when comparing myself to the likes of my wife, who only started smoking a few months before I did, and she smokes Newport 100s. She goes through 2 packs a day, now. I try to minimize my smoking, limiting myself to about 4-6 cigarettes a day, since anything more will be going to waste(not giving me a buzz) and will most likely give me a headache, especially if I don't eat anything. When I see my wife light up in the car on the way to a restaurant, light up while waiting to order/waiting on order, light up after the meal, and then light up again on the drive home, it nauseates me. I don't know how anybody can smoke that much. Also, I undergo physical training on a daily basis that tends to involve a lot of cardiovascular activity, so my breathing is in pretty good condition.

I do. and really really REALLY wish I didn't.

I hate smelling like a cigarette. I hate the social taboo of being a smoker. I hate wanting/needing one when it’s not appropriate. I hate coughing. I hate how it looks. I hate how much it costs. and I hate being a nicotine junky.

i've only been smoking for a few years, but it's already done it's damage. took everything to pass my PT for the military. I hope to quit soon, but all the little stop smoking aids are rather pricey.

No smoking here. My grandfather smokes, even though he knows he shouldn't around my gramma (she had LC and had half a lung removed, yet he still smokes). I hate how everything I have smells like it. I go out and people ask if I smoke (because my clothes reek of ciggarettes) and I get pissed off...so if I smell like that at NEST please remember it's not my fault! I like Axe for that reason lol

I have a hard time breathing around lit cigs, so that really kills the idea of having one.

I had a bad habit of smoking cigars a couple of years back. but i stopped, cause it made my breath and my clothes stink. Plus its an expensive habit.

bad habit, dont try it!

Arrrr!! Smokin' be the death of me, sez I!! All the doubloons and Queen's silver won't save me from seeing Davey's Locker!!

Arrrrrrrrrrgh!! (sez I)

Cheers.😀

My wife's whole family is alergic to smoking.

Funny thing about me though...I am not a smoker but I have smoked.
and I am not "addicted" to tobacco...I can smoke 3-4 cigarettes at a bar with some buds or something one night but not have another cig for weeks or months even.
I don't know why...

I am really interested in trying a pipe...I REALLY look Irish when I wear a "flat cap" and have a pipe in my mouth(Halloween costume).

Used to..

I used to smoke, but then i found out I was pregnant and I have stopped because I dont want to hurt my child..but who knows if i will pick it up again

No, I dont smoke. I did smoke a pipe for a short time in college about 10 years ago, but gave it up. I've tried cigs, but never got into the habit. It's amazing that I dont smoke, because of ten main family members on both sides, Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents, seven of them smoked. My paternal grandfather died of cancer brought on from smoking, and my mom smoked for 40 plus years, but gave it up last year after a cancer scare. I'll never smoke, and hope to marry a non smoker. Giving it up is hard, some family members tried, and couldnt, but its almost a year, and my mom gave it up cold turkey. I'm proud of her. I know it can be a difficult habit to break.

I've twice in my lifetime, the last for good. Need help?

I've never smoked, but my father did all while I was growing up, and I had (unknowingly) become desensitized to it. That was a long time ago. And, after being removed from the smell for so long, now I easily detect--and really dislike--the smell.

A few years ago I dated someone who had been a smoker. Well, she was trying, somewhat unsuccessfully, to quit. She was a great person, but the kisses....yuck. :xlime: I'm sorry. Despite her best attempts, the aftertaste(?) was pretty bad to me. It was then I learned that avoiding kisses can be kinda awkward! lol

...good thing she was ticklish, or I'd have been outta there! 😛

hell no...

makes your breath stink and your teeth yellow--I wore braces for about 95 years so I'm a FREAK about my teeth. To this day, I still wear my retainer every once in awhile and once a year I pay to get my teeth bleached...Oh, and I have asthma <gg> this one's a no brainer...

XOXO

Sadly.......

I too am one of the millions of idiots in the world that feel the need to blacken their lungs at least once an hour. And I started when I was way too young. I'm 18 and I have been smoking almost 7 years. I am doing better, down to one pack a day from two. I'll quit eventually.

whats the purpose of smoking anyway? you might as well eat a plate of lead paint every night too while your at it.

non-smoker here. Both of my parents smoked, both have quit. Dad quit in 1989, Mom in 1996. I never started. I think they reek and have since grown allergic to them. I hope to marry a non-smoker. If not, he can take it outside. I'm gonna live in a smoke-free home, no matter what.
