A lot of people who know me admire my CD collection. I've got a wide variety of music interests: The Beatles, anything Motown, Miles Davis, etc. Yet, there are CD's which contain songs that I'm too embarrassed to share with anyone... except you! Here's one song and I get tears in my eyes when I hear it, sentimental sap that I am: "Could It Be Magic", by Barry Manilow.

that is my absolute favorite manilow song. i heard him do it in concert and was blown away.

I'm with you guys, I have the "Best Of Manilow" greatest hits CD which I keep very hidden-lol. He is my guiltiest of guilty pleasures.

"One Bad Apple", by The Osmonds... the bass player (James Jamerson) is the very same bass player heard on nearly all of Motown's classics.

I'll 4th you guys. Barry Manilow is my dirty little musical secret as well. I'm always embarrassed to admit that I love his music, but dang if that guy doesn't have a few golden songs. "Could it be Magic" is my fave, too. That piano melody (Chopin, if I remember correctly) is musical junk food, I swear. Gotta love it.

Mimi 🙂

You're right, Mimi. I love classical music which may explain why I love that Barry song so much. I think it's based on a Chopin melody. Another song that I like is Eric Carmen's original version of, "All By Myself", based on a Rachmaninov melody. (I can't stand Celine Dion's version, purge, purge, puke, puke!)

great question

Absolutely ANYTHING by Barry! My fave teary-eyed ditty is "This One's for You".

But I also shamefully confess to also being huge fan of ABBA, the BeeGees and Boy George 😀
XOXO

"I Love The Night Life", by Alicia Bridges, even though she sounds like a young Ethel Merman. (I'm a closet Disco Freak)

Partridge Family Memories

My favorite by them is "Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted". There was a song I heard in my Navy days that went "Yank My Doodle It's A Dandy" but I haven't heard it since... don't even know who sang it.

Wow Featherfingers,I'd have to say that most people are
impressed by my music collection I have collected through the
years too...There are quite a few songs that come to mind
actually but the one that I love soo much but am admitting
to everyone now..is...
Dreams,Hopes & fantasies By John Denver..Gawd I loved his
music!!!..
I also love "cherry Pie " by Warrant but That song rocks
in my book 😀

I guess I shouldn't be ashamed to be a "Fanilow" after all. "His name was Rico, He was so suav-vay!"

And I've been a John Denver fan since the age of 10...That's a long time. Nearly broke my heart when he died. "Well I may come easy but I don't come free!"

The wife and I just watched our BeeGees live tape the other night. I love Donna Summer's "Once Upon a Time" cd, always have.

Texas Tornadoes rule the world, seriously. "Who were you thinking of when we were making love last night?".

..Have I humiliated myself enough? No? Ok, then, I ADORE ROGER WHITAKER!!! "There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbor. Tomorrow for old England she sails. Far away from your land of endless sunshine, to my land full of rainy skies and gales."

Rxx

"Muskrat Love", by The Captain and Toenail. I love the middle part when it sounds like the muskrats are passing gas. It's so damn funny! I shouldn't like it but I'm drawn to it like a tongue to Steph's toes.

You're going to be in so much trouble when you come back! (Sooo naughty...)😛

XOXO

We'll talk about THAT when you get back Mister Man!

(Sticks her pierced tongue out at him) there--that'll give ya incentive to come back to us in a hurry~I HOPE!

XOXO

(Heart Beats Faster...) Hey , I think I need a Steph-o-scope! You got my heart a- beatin', baby!!! Hey, I'm hijacking my own topic! (I'll get you, Steph sister!) People put it down but I love the song, "MacArthur Park", by Richard Harris. Especially the real slow part near the middle. "There will be another duh duh duh, someone will duh-uh-uh-duh". (Tears well up in my eyes)

awwww...

Don't cry, I'm here--for the next few mins or so--I'm a Nip/Tuck addict!

And I have one internet rule~If it's YOUR thread, it's not hijacking...😛
Got it honey? And HA! Don't you even go there about "getting" me, ya hear? Idle threats my dear~It's a VERY long drive 😉

XOXO

Steph, but a very short flight! This may be the last post I do for quite awhile, sugar. I've had fun and I'll look for you when I get back. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO Take it easy!

I'll miss you and everyone else. Thanks for everything. Bye. The song "Leaving On A Jet Plane", by Peter, Paul & Mary begins to play... So long, everyone! (Until I return...)

Okay, I'll be game and admit another. Dan Folgeberg. To this day I can not listen to "Same Old Lang Syne" without bursting into tears. His voice is as fluid as any instrument. Beautiful.

Mimi 🙂

Well, I'm back for one more day with you guys. Radio plays, "Daddy's Home", by Shep & The Limelights. Now, THAT song isn't embarrassing to love. But when I play "Hooked On A Feeling", by Blue Swede, you can't ignore the "Hooga-chaka, ooga ooga, Hooga-chaka, ooga ooga..." Silly as hell, but I love it! I love songs that feature horn sections so you could say I'm a horny kind of guy.
