Just a few oldies, off the top of my head.

Freebird, Lynard Skynard. Not only was it played on the radio ad nauseum, it seems to have been covered by every (bad) garage and bar band in the world.

Stairway To Heaven, Led Zeppelin. Even Neal Sadaka covered this. :xlime:

More Then A Feeling, Boston. Wore out it's welcome after about six months.

I'll think of more later. 🙂

Easiest one in recent memory.

"What I Got" by Sublime. I used to love that song and now if it comes on the radio (for the 10,000,000th time) I automatically change the channel 🙁

anything by boston

If you're Canadian, you have to suffer through Canadian content on the radio, no matter the genre... not dissing all Canadian bands, but it gets tired pretty quickly, gotta say 😀

Nickleback
April Wine
Kim Mitchell (the ultimate insult, as he's the drive-home DJ on the rock station here )
Tragically Hip (sorry... its gettin' old)
Tom Cochrane

I'm sure there's more, but the above are cringe worthy enough :panic:

Leafs, dude, the Hip has been old for a very, very long time.

Early Green Day hits. Basket Case and When I Come Around come to mind.

You have just given me the one and only good reason to never move to Canada.

Any song sung at a Piano bar (Go to one in Vegas and you WILL hear the same songs 2-3 times a day. It make me wonder how and why the piano players/singers there don't kill themselves).

Any song by any band that sold out (Specifically, Green Day and their 'American Idiot' album)

Any song that has been popularized by Karaoke and/or Pop Culture (such as Boston's 'More than a Feeling', 'Freebird' and yes, even Journeys 'Don't Stop Believin'. Sorry.)

Indeed they have 😀 Didn't want to piss off any Hip lover's that's all 😉 They were good in their time, hehe

LOL... don't let that dissuade you! With our fine array of beer and Canadian Whiskey... you'll find yourself acclimatized in no time :jester:

"Hotel California" by The Eagles.

How many times a day do we have to hear this piece of worthless dreck on the radio?

While we're at it....

"Peaceful Easy Feeling"- The Eagles
"One Of These Nights"- The Eagles
"Lying Eyes" -The Eagles
"Take it to the Limit"- The Eagles
"Life in the Fastlane"- The Eagles
"Best of my Love" -The f'n Eagles.

Yep, that's one song I wouldn't miss if it went away. Another one I've burned out on is "Sweet Home Alabama".

Pretty much any song nowadays on terrestrial rock radio that is considered "classic rock" where the powers that be decide that that's the only song by a particular artist that they're going to play. :banghead:

Examples include:

Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
Enter Sandman - Metallica
Livin on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
Rock and Roll All Night - KISS
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
American Girl - Tom Petty
Tom Sawyer - RUSH
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Don't Stop Believin - Journey
I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
Patience - Guns 'N Roses
Plush - Stone Temple Pilots
Fight For Your Right - Beastie Boys
Round and Round - RATT
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
Jump - Van Halen
Rock Like You a Hurricane - Scorpions
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister

"I hate the fucking Eagles man!"

All I know is this:

I feel a lot better........knowing The Dude is out there.

Oh, back on topic:

The Who- "Won't Get Fool Again". Let's throw a few more rock songs into CSI shows.

Elvis Presley-"Viva Las Vegas". Not so much run into the ground by radio, but destroyed in a Viagra ad, in which people will probably remember the song more for.
