I can remember as a child, having the very distinct notion ticklishness goes away when you "grow up". Funny, because I can vividly recall seeing adults who were ticklish, but by and large, it was just ingrained adults weren't ticklish anymore. And now, having been a full-grown adult for sometime now... I feel like Sam Krichinski in the movie Avalon... "WHAT A COUNTRY!!" LOL Ok, I got a little off track there... but what I'm getting at is I think part of the thrill I get tickling (as an adult) comes from the mere ticklishness of the adult I'm tickling. It's like "WOOHOO!! She's a grown-up, AND she's still ticklish!!" LOL I know it's goofy huh?

Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you thought growing up there was a finite time of ticklishness and/or get a partial thrill from how wrong we were?

Whenever I noticed adults who weren't ticklish, I didn't chalk it up to age - I just figured they weren't as much fun as kids 😛

PSHAW....who lied to you???? 😛

I NEVER thought grownups weren't ticklish. I get my ticklish gene from my mother....who *GASP* is probably a ticklefreak herself! Hell, it's a whole family of us..lol. I remember my dad tickling my mom regularly when I was a kid. 🙂 I lived under the assumption that you got more ticklish the older you got I think! LOL

Joby who *curtsey*, thanks Red for the nickname :Kiss1:

Heehee!

This is sooooooooooo funny!

I also used to think that you stopped being ticklish when you grew older! I for one am glad that I was wrong.

My uncle and my aunt used to tickle me like crazy when I was little. I have this memory at 3 yrs old of my uncle chasing my cousins/sisters and me down the hallway. He would growl at us like he was a monster and wiggle his fingers. When he caught, us he would tickle us! I always made sure I was cornered somehow and when all of the other kids would run away, I would only pretend to try to escape. He would hold me and have me wiggling and giggling. I LOVED IT!

This is my earliest tickle memory, so I attribute that family (that particular Aunt and Uncle) for starting my love of tickling. A couple of months ago, my aunt visited us. My sister asked, “Do you remember when we used to try and tickle you and you would say you weren’t ticklish?” She replied, “Oh! I am so ticklish!!!!!! I just didn’t want you all getting me all of the time.” I was like :yowzer: Heehee.

When I visited the family during New Year’s, I walked into the same house and all the memories just hit me. Good memories. Everything was almost the same. And my cousin and I, 12 when I last saw her… WOW! We are exactly alike. It is so strange. And she is insanely ticklish, and loves it. I told her that whenever my mother is mad at me, I pick her up, put her over my shoulder and carry her until she is laughing and not mad anymore. She said, “I can’t do that to my Mom! She tickles me! Doesn’t play fair at all!” My aunt laughs, “You’re just too ticklish C--- . That’s your fault.” I thought that was so cool!

I think it is awesome that my aunt is blindly getting people into tickling. Now… yes it would freak me out if I went to QBWeaver’s house and my cuz was there. YIPESSSSSSSSSSS! :sowrong: LOL
But I don’t mind seeing some of you there. Heehee 😛

Until then,
Love, Laugh and TICKLE!

Haha funnyman. There is this "thing" about you...giggle.

I'd make your soup for ya, Tero...then I'd tickle your popsicle toes till ya felt better too. Cheers to bein' an adult, you get to act like a kid and not get yelled at for it! LOL

Joby 🙂

I'm always glad that it doesn't seem to be an age-restricted deal, but I've known several who were ticklish when we were kids, that aren't, now. They desensitized. Alas. Happens to some, sadly.
