YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!! Pens get the Cup, The Wings Don't, and Canadian Honour is restored.... a Win Win Win situation.

Sorry....I just get pissed off at all these people that talk Crosby up like he's the greatest thing ever. He's a great player, I get it. Add to that the rivalry my Capitals have with these guys...this is the equivalent of if the Cowboys won the Super Bowl in football.

Plus with how much Crosby just whines about so many things, I just can't stand the guy himself, thinking that he can run the league on his own. It just pisses me off that this guy is gonna hoist the cup prior to the REAL face of the league that resides in DC.
 
Gratz to all Pens fans. A well played series and a great game 7.

And much scoffing laughter to all those who kept saying the Penguins were finished awhile ago.

I've said prior to game 1 that, to win the series, the Wings would have to play thru the Pens AND the officiating. I'm glad the NHL is happy, since they finally, after SO many years of his dedicated playing, handed Crosby the Cup.

I don't think I can agree with you. Since the NHL has been owned and run by American's all they care about is that an American team wins the cup.
 
Yeah, but who's the player that they always shove down our throats in the league's Marketing?
 
I guess Sidney Crosby will be doing some TV commercials now...he's a champ!! 🙂

I can't agree either. Conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen in sports and I just don't buy any of them. :munch:
 
Congrats to the Pens. They really did play well in games 6 and 7 and deserved to win, Detroit just didn't quite have enough those last two games. Fluery deserves a lot of credit after being pulled in game 5.

About Canadian honor being restored, let's see...

Malkan wins the Conn Smythe, where is he from? Europe.

Dan Bylsma was born where? Grand Haven, Michigan

Cindy Crosby was completely outplayed and outclassed by Henrik Zetterberg, who's from where? Europe

Will you people give the North Americans vs. the Europeans a rest now please.
 
it was a great playoff series, a great finals series and a great regular season. i am sad to see it finally over for this year. 🙁 congrats to the pens on the cup.
 
Being from Kansas City and not having a team to cheer for, I thought it was a great series.

My wife was rooting for Pittsburgh simply because of M. A. Fleury, man he had some great saves toward the end of the game. By the way, I wanted to see Washington win it, oh well.

The amazing thing to me was that Pitt won it without having Crosby on the ice for some of the second and all of the third period., a testimony to the rest of the team and their grittiness.

Plus, now the Canes can at least say we lost to the champions. If you're gonna lose, do it against the best. It's less annoying that way.
 
Well this thread mentioned a lot about Sidney Crosby being pushed down our throats, so I wonder now that the NHL's signature player has a championship ring if it will make him more marketable and possibly make hockey more popular in the USA the way it was in the 90s?
 
Maybe...I'm not saying that its bad for the league, I just am pissed as all hell that it has to be with Crosby and the effin Penguins rather than my boy Ovechkin and our Capitals...well, Bettman gave Crosby this cup...maybe he can return the favor next year for Ovie.
 
I like the Caps and Ovechkin more myself, but this was an amazing series. I loved every second of it, and I think it was so huge for the league. The ratings won't show it, but the NHL playoffs were far superior to the NBA this year.

Well, you can at least take comfort in knowing that Ovechkin is probably the best player in the NHL right now. He's kind of in a similar situation to Lebron James though, because the rest of his team is good... but not good enough.

If Gary Bettman is handing out Stanley Cups to marketable players than I must say it is indeed very bad for the league. I'm afraid I don't share your view of the cup being handed to Crosby via favoritism.:snoopy:
