Hi I was thinking of setting up an old pc outside in the garage and let it grind away some computer generated textures for me for my 3d Artwork, However where I live it can get pretty hot. Do you know if they make a table or cheap AC like device that you could put computer on or put near computer to keep the temperature down. Thanks for your time everyone. 😀 😀 :bouncybou

I wouldn't get real fancy with something like this. Computers don't have heat problems if they're properly designed. If this is a desktop that has been running reliably, it'll probably be fine.
As far as a cheap AC device, a little 8 inch radial fan blowing toward the front of the case will most likely keep it quite happy.
If the garage is still too hot, set it up inside the house on the dining room table, off to the side, and treat it like a dinner guest.

Thanks TK, I think I will go with the fan ideal although in the summer the valley temperatures in CA can easily go over a 100 degrees F. Unfortuntately I dont think Mom will approve of my dinner guest on exceptionally hot days 😉 😛 .

dear mr kurchy, a fan will probably do fine as TKpervert suggested. alternatly you could purchase a nice new stainless steel LG refrigerator (with the cool TV screen in the door) and mount the porn computer in there to keep it cool with your beer 😀

You could just take the outer case off, and leave a large house fan blowing across it...

I was thinking mini-fridge, too... But then I realized that condensation would kill your hardware. 😛

Wouldn't that just blow extra dust into the computer making it overheat, thus defeating the object of cooling it? Just a thought!

Along the refrirgeration line I had thought about a wine cooler (they are actually pretty cheap) but as Asutickler pointed out water condensation might be a problem. I think just a good strong fan would be sufficient and maybe a digital thermometer to keep track of how well things are going.
