The Best Words- "Cancer Free"

"Sheila, the Xray is clear, and there is no cancer anywhere in your body".

Such were the words of Dr B and Dr C today, during our seperate meetings with them. Dr C was "elated". Dr B was "shocked". They reported to us the wonderful news that my mom is now cancer free, and the "Home Run" that Dr C strove for has been achieved.

Of course, my mom will still have to be watched. She has an appt with Dr B for blood work in Dec, and another body scan in Jan, just to be sure, but..

We were told to just go about our lives.

Finally.. after nineteen excruciating months, Sheila and Mitch can exhale!

I Thank God, my mom's wonderful Drs in NJ, my real life friends, the members of my family who have supported me, and my friends here at TMF. All the long drives to NJ, and months spent in NJ, were worth the effort!

I hope to have a good night's sleep tonight for the first time in nineteen months. I deserve it!

Load her the FUCK up with vitamins and healthy stuff. I hate to say it, but cancer CAN come back, and considering how hard it was to fix her this time, you wanna make sure she's strong and healthy in the event she has to go through it again.

And if it doesn't...then she'll be the healthiest mother on the block. Either way, it's win-win.

This is the best news I've heard all week!! Actually it's about the only good news I've heard all week.

I'm so happy for you and your mom and hope things only get better from here. I ordered the essiac tea I was telling you about so I can improve my immune system for the winter. Please consider what I posted to you about rebuilding her immune system so all that hard work gets stronger. If not what I suggested, find something that'll help her. Since you're going to the Chinese restaurant, do you have a Chinese herbalist in your city? They're a little pricey, but have awesome stuff that they make specifically for the patient depending on need. She'll be ready to run a marathon when they get finished with her!

Whatever you decide, I'm glad she's cancer free and hope only the best for you both.

Amn,I will look into what you suggested. I'd have to talk to her doctor. One problem is that she has severe stomach problems, from a lot of the meds she was taking, and cant just tolerate "taking any vitamins". I'd have to ask for a suggestion from him. In fact, shes going to see a stomach Dr this week, to try and help her with the stomach problems. I'll ask the stomach Dr.

I KNOW Cancer can come back. I'm not stupid. Right now.. for just..a day.. I'm trying to look at the positive. TWO DOCTORS told us to go home, and not to worry about that for now, and just to live life. Considering the hell my mom and I have been through for 20 months, we deserve that.

Thank you for your good wishes, kis. I'm sorry that you've had a bad week. I hope your life gets better. I will look into the things you mentioned. As far as I know, we dont have a chinese herbalist in Lancaster.

Problem number one: The Cancer,, seems to God willing be under control. Problem number two,my mom's lack of any appetite, is a great concern to me, but two doctors told me yesterday it will come back in time. As I said before, after 20 months of hell, I want to try and rejoice, even if.. just for one day.

Here is how I look at it, and I said this to my mom yesterday after we heard the report from the Drs.

As some people may remember: On the day my mom was diagnosed with "Metastatic Cancer" (A misdiagnosis, as we now know) by the idiot doctors in Lancaster, on March 10, 2010, my post was "The Day You Feel Like Your World Comes To An End".

October 21, 2011: Is.. officially.. (I pray). " The First Day Of The Rest of Sheila and Mitch's lives"

This is how I'm going to look at it, every day, for as long as I have my mom with me. Hopefully, God Willing, according to what the doctors told me yesterday, unless something God Forbid unforseen happens, she won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
