The Enigma Thread

An enigma: Why am I hungry just one hour after breakfast? :hungry:
Could be a symptom of Diabetes. Diabetics like myself are constantly hungry. Make sure your blood sugar isn't too high and perhaps get your HbAic checked. May not be anything but good to be safe.

I'm happy to report that my last glucose measurement was 84.0 mg/dL, well withing the normal range of 70-99 mg/dL.
The only reading outside the normal range was carbon dioxide.
It was 19.0 mmol/L, where the normal range is 20-29 mmol/L. I have no idea what slightly low carbon dioxide means.

Glad you have such good numbers. :bounce: Diabetes is sneaky. The early symptoms are very subtle like hunger and thirst. My numbers were always high like 230 to 250. My grandma hit over 400. Anyways glad you are healthy. I always warn people cause you don't want to go down the road I did.

Yes, I get a blood test that includes glucose every six months because I have a family history of diabetes. My father got it in his early 70's and my brother became prediabetic in his early 70's.

My family has a history of Diabetes too. Mainly on my father's side. They are estimating that soon almost 1 in 3 people will be diabetic or prediabetic. This is mainly due to bad diets.

Glad you have your blood sugar under control. :bounce:

I never heard of stevia, but I found this:
Although generally safe to consume, stevia may cause problems in some people, including nausea, bloating, decreased blood pressure, and potential impacts on the liver. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers stevia leaf extract safe for consumption, and it is likely safe for most people.
