That is one INCREDIBLY WICKED WICKED WICKED movie. Way better than I thought it would be. The theater was full and several times everyone jumped out of there seats .

What are anybody`s thoughts of this movie?

I've been wanting to see for the longest...If I go, I'll holla back! 😛
XOXO

The creature concepts were interesting, the environment was well chosen in my opinion, and i believe that that was a major plus in this movie, since that darkish territory was those creatures hunting grounds and those four girls were traped there with no means of escape, and since they couldn't see a thing in the dark, opposite to those creatures, it did made it more exciting to wait for its conclusion. The one thing that baffled me was the ending, i didn't think they made clear enough wether or not she survives the ordeal, as she appeared to be cornered/surrounded by those things in the end, or let alone if she manages to come out of there. Flock, your thoughts on this one...?

Saw it Saturday night, this movie kicks ASS; worth every penny and I will so own a copy, as cheap as I am that's saying something 😛 .

I'm currently waiting to buy a copy of 'Silent Hill' at the end of this month, that movie is magically delicious on the freak-out scale :shake:

Normally I'm totally the same way, but this movie has deep cavern scenes that will not be as incredible on a smaller screen, even with a big screen tv. Find a matinee for cheap and see it at the theater if you can!

Bella is 1000% right on the money. This movie needs to seen at a theater. The reactions of the others in the theater really pump up the intensity!!!

No gas attacks? thats like asking me not to breathe. 😕

Watching a horror movie is much better at a theater, i'm glad someone here has seen it and reviewed it, I hope to go see it this weekend.

I saw this this past weekend...awesome. I really thought the acting was surprisingly good--which, of course, is pretty uncommon in horror movies. The script was pretty solid too as there was sufficient plausibility (again, relatively speaking) to hold things together.

Also, if you've ever gone spelunking and/or felt some true claustrophibia, there are a few good scenes that should bring it all back for you. lol

If you give it a thumbs up my dear, then I will have to see it. 🙂

I saw this a while ago and really enjoyed (it scared me half to death at times!!!) :shake:

What I did like is that for once the female characters in a horror movie were not all airheads running about in wet tank tops. Sorry guys - lol

I SO agree. There was only one moment in the whole movie that made me wanna shake some sense into one of the characters, when she (this gives nothing away) went running full tilt toward what she hoped was an exit. Sorry, but any spelunker who runs like a fool in a pitch black wet-ass cavern needs schmacked upside the head 😡 Other than that I was pleased.

I caught this movie the other night. It blew my expectations away... so much better than I thought it would be. I've only seen the US ending, but I know the UK ending is available on youtube, and it will also be on the US dvd release. But the ending stayed with me at least two hours after the movie ended, which is a sensation that I haven't had in recent horror movies that have been released this past year.

I also loved all the "horror homages" they paid in the film. There was music from The Thing (Carpenter version), to go along with the paranoia. Just the whole cholstrophobic feeling was definately Alien, along with the way the cave crawlers were used. Predator, when she metaphorically became one of them and just yelled for the sake of yelling and everybody else heard her. And at the end the heroine started to look like Carrie with all the blood on her...even with the hand popping out at the end.

bump from a few months ago 😀 I just saw this last night and wow, I don't watch horror movies very often but I'm glad I saw this one, VERY intense and suspenseful... the cave creatures (I called them cave goblins hehe) were kinda silly after a while, I think they were actually scarier when they were just lurking around in the shadows rather than going apesh*t and trying to eat everyone... but the set up was brilliant and very frightening, the first few times we catch a glimpse of the monsters was definitely memorable and scary...especially when Sarah sees one of them from far away in the tiny glimmer of her flashlight, uuggh... and the ending was brutal! (I saw the unrated version with the original ending) Great horror flick

I saw this movie in theaters with two of my dorm-friends.

I'm a fan of scary movies despite my being easily startled.

I screamed. Twice. The movie was seriously phuqued up.

Rented it, and watched it twice in a row. I wish they had gone with the original ending though...I've always believed that there is no happy ending to a horror movie.

hm.. so im way late on saying anything about this, but i just saw this thread for the first time today..

i got the movie on dvd, the unrated version.. i had pretty high expecations from the part in the preview where they show the view through the video camera and the thing just kind of appears behind them.. im a huge fan of horror movies, and this caught my attention.. then after actually seeing the movie.. all i can say.. is wow.. that was a really good movie.. i enjoyed everything about it, from the creatures to the acting to the story to all the f*cked up things that happened.. it definately gets my two thumbs up..

theres also a movie called 'rest stop' that i got recently.. it was a straight to DVD movie, but from the producer of supernatural and the x-files and some other good scary shit.. john shiban.. the movie had a very realistic feel to it, like something that could kind of happen to anyone that happened upon a rest stop like this.. i wont say more, but if you like horror movies, check it out.. it was only $10 (and joey lawrence is in the movie.. i thought that guy was dead..)
