the official Nascar thread.

I just plain love Bristol, night or day, but night is better!

So the SO asks me if I want to go to our local dirt track for the races Saturday night. I said "ARE YOU INSANE???? It's Bristol Baby!" He was appropriately chagrined.

hears something nascar should try, cover bristol with dirt like they did with the world of outlaws (sprint car series) a few years ago. it would be fun to see the cup boys on dirt. i think tony would agree with that too.

also i think jeff gordon will have a good nite and move up in points.
mark and tony will have good runs but stay in the same spot in points.
kasey kahn will move up into the top 10.
jr will remain in top 10.

rumor has it that mary everham has the same lawyer that jeff gordon's ex. had in their divorce.

I've been a huge Bristol under the lights fan for quite awhile now. The best race was a few years ago when everyone got totally nuts: helmets being thrown at windshields, leg guards tossed into the windows of moving vehicles, wrecks galore, screaming, yelling and threats. What a great race to watch...

Nascar isnt my chosen form of motor racing lol but I am curious to see how an Australian driver is doing: Marcus Ambrose. Obviously this would be his rookie year but over the past few seasons in Australian V8's he has been dominant.

Any information would be appreciated.

A lot of that was done by the world's greatest driver.....Ward Burton. He's coming back, I tell you!

I can't believe that #10 Scott Riggs didn't take Gordon out when he was blocking him for so long. I think maybe just wishful thinking.

Marcus is driving in the Nascar Craftsman Truck Series this year. I have a bit of an interest in him myself as I'm acquainted with the folks who own his truck. But I have to admit that after his debut race and the couple after that, I kind of lost track of him. I don't have time to watch the truck races. He wrecked a lot, early on, but according to nascar.com he's had 14 starts, 1 pole, and 2 Top 5s. So really that's quite good for a rookie.

I'll be attending the truck race in Vegas next month- I'll send him a wave from you!

whoohooo i hope so..i like Ward....

also i heard that Mark Martin won the truck series at Bristol....i didn't know he was involved in the truck races this year...

Mark is the Man in the truck series this year. He is also got a good shot to make the Chase still. California this weekend.

hmmm i read that you goof lolol..my eye sight is fantastic...well maybe i'm wrong about the time..

The TV programmer said 8 PM also. I have three things all on at 8 PM and fortunately our TV lamp just blew and we can't get a replacement until Tuesday. Will be watching our small exercise tv for all the excitement tonight. Got a football game (Kentucky), a baseball game (the Tigers) and of course California all on at the same time. Time for Mark to win one Izzy but watch out for that Kasey Kahne fellow, he is really strong. Later.

just my thoughts

for next year i think espn or fox should hire hank jr for their nascar intro. since he's not doing monday night football. are you ready for some nascar! it would work.

talladaga nights sucked. will farrell is about as funny as al franken is. know wonder snl hasn't been any good in twenty years.

i think the chase will come down to two hendrick cars with jeff gordon being a 5 time champion.

All I know is that the race is tonight (sometime) at Richmond and I'll be rooting for my boy (please don't bash) Jeff Gordon. He doesn't have to win the race, I just want him to make the Chase this year. 🙂

ugh...First we had lk70 with her Tony Stewart, now you with Gordon. :disgust:

Well, so long as a Jimmy Johnson fan doesn't show up, we should be able to keep the whining to a minimum. :imouttahe

I don't have a fave driver, but I cheer for all Ford drivers.
Rousch did well last season, time to continue up....

um sorry i am a fan of Johnson..who won?

Kevin Harvick won the race. Kasey Kahne made the Chase but Tony Stewart didn't. :yowzer: And I was biting my nails until the last lap. My boy Gordon made the Chase...barely, but he made it. :xpulcy:
