Ooooh, speaking of number 20, did anyone else see that little teardrop in the corner of his eye? Heheh, that always kills me. It looks to me like it was just an accident, plain and simple. It didn't look like Kenseth intentionally caused that wreck, but it happened. And there was Tony...."wah wah wah". Best part of that is if Tony does something like that, he still tries to blame the other driver.

And that's why I miss #3. He would just shrug, smile and say "That's racing".

when all is said and done, the number 20 car will be on top.......again.

From your lips to the racing god's ears....

he was a little whiny Saturday night though wasn't he? He better quit that, or I'm moving on. I don't like whiners.

Ultimately it's all about that GIANT WEENIE Johnson though. I just can't stand it- bad enough I was trapped in El Dorado, AR with no internet access, but I had to watch him win another one at Charlotte? Sometimes things just don't go my way.

you can all give up hope

when nascar leaves homestead kurt busch will be the champ again

welcome to the world of nascar.. but i must disagree with you about kurt. i think that either jimmy or mark might take the championship this year.

robby gordon will once again participate in both the indy five hundred and the coke a cola .. tony stewart ( the big weenie) used to do that also..

El Dorado? Did you ride boldly ride to the end of the rainbow, gracious Queen of NASCAR? :veryhappy

Thank goodness the Queen wasn't trapped on El Dorado, that is one mean son of a bull..................And if LK70 ever went for the driving experience, she would get paried with either Johnson or Gordon :wowzer:

Nah, the best I could do was the Best Western 😀

i wonder where kurt busch will put his coca cola 600 trophy

hmm well seeing as how mark will win, i suppose kurt will put it on mark's mantle for him. hehe.

I'm predicting Johnson for the win and Stewart number 2 in the 600. I hope I'm wrong (about Johnson anyway). I won't get to see it live, but Tivo is there for me and I'll spend Monday watching it I hope.

These new hard tires are interesting. Watching the Busch race now and we're on our first caution on lap 3. Gonna be a LONG night I bet.

The new hard tires are interesting, the new track surface is good, I think, but the new lower fuel cell (13) is overboard and makes way too many pit stops for any race let alone a 600 mile one. Johnson was good, but Evernham had his stuff working last night for the win. Rousch had all his cars running last night also.

Watching Tony getting pulled from that car with that grimace of pain on his face was AWFUL! Broken scapula. A minor break, but really painful I hear. Wonder how he'll manage at Dover?

whoohooo mark martin fourth , jimmy johnson second.. and get this guys, which i didn't know until just now because i somehow missed the beginning of the race but....... governor manchin waved the green flag at the coca cola six hundred... yippeeeee lol..

If you have ever had a broken or factured rib, you can imagine the pain everytime he breathes or brakes, or whatever. I need Steph to translate but i bet the scapula is attached to moving parts. He might not even drive for a week or two. Then again, enough Jim Beam and anything is possible.

So its the shoulder blade and they said this morning that Stewart will porbably start the race. Ricky Rudd will qualify and be on stand by to allow the points to count for the team. How far will he drive? First caution or pit top?

Well really, since he had his ears pinned back, Kurt is SO much more aerodynamic!

My heart goes with the 38 (M&M's Elliott Sadler) but I think either Kevin Harvick's 29 or Jr's #8 will end up on winners checkers.

I'm looking for y'all's thoughts on this. Tony drove injured because he had to run at least a lap to get the points for the race. The new man thinks he shouldn't have to drive if he's really hurt- it's a safety issue.

I'm not so sure myself. I think it's kinda cool to see a driver suck and drive, kinda like Cal Ripken Jr Iron Man stuff.

OTOH, he could be risking other drivers' safety as well.

Well? Well?

What do y'all think?

Now, you know I would love to be kind, considerate and be happy for all, but it just isn't going to happen here. I have to say that i stick with the rules as they are but I would be a little more restrictive than it is. I don't think a driver should get all the points just because they started a race and got out for another driver. I don't have a problem with the owner points going to the car owner because its their car, but the points should be assigned to the laps driven, just like if you DNF. Good fortune has a lot to do with winning the championship, in the wrong place at the wrong time, I don't see any reason to believe that the rule needs to be changed more liberally. Remember, most of Tony's injuries did not occur with the Cup races so why get a free pass for having something happen somewhere else? Just my thought. 🙂

Wow. You're looking at it completely differently. Mostly I've been hearing that the driver deserves the points even if he doesn't drive at all, not the other way around. What would Ricky Rudd do with the points anyway? He's not racing this year.

When you look at Nascar's bottom line, which is sponsorship, you understand why the driver has to get the points. Home Depot wouldn't be very happy if their car wasn't in the Chase because of an injury.

So, then, AAA will be really happy that Tony, or whoever, got the points for sitting on the bench thru 90% of the race. I know what you say and I understand and probably agree, but I have always leaned toward eraning what you get. As a side bar, I don't like Designated Hitters in baseball either, gives the pitcher a free pass past batting. You know its hard to teach an old mule and new plow

danny hamlin won the pokonos.. a rookie. jeff gordon had the hardest hit he ever had, he said, after a really rough crash into the wall..

Road Trip!

I am the proud owner of two tickets to the Busch race in Martinsville, VA on July 22 where Darrell Waltrip will drive the old Aaron's Dream Machine. I'm so excited to be able to see DW race again.

It's a mere 8 hour drive from my place in NJ and only $30 a ticket.

WOOHOO!
