The Official Sammi-chan Fan Club Thread

While the history of the nation and its people is incredibly interesting, I gotta admit I'd just love to visit Tokyo. It seems like the pinnacle of urban culture and the modern world. I'd just love to see it and experience it.

The title sounds familiar, but I don't think I've seen it.

Wesley Snipes and Sean Connery investigate a murder at company owned by the Japanese. Takes place in LA, but there are elements of Japanese business cultural throughout the film. One of the few films I can stand Wesley Snipes in.

Ah ok. I've definitely never seen that one. Sounds cool though. *Adds it to my to-see list*

Sounds like a pretty cool flick. Japanese business culture can be pretty facinating. It's VERY formal and precise.

And that's why I never watched movies based on John Grisham books. 😉 Actually, it was just 'cause they never appealled to me that much.

i've only seen one book made into a movie that was word for word for the book. 100% accurate. and only once has this happened.

Movie is a bit assinine compared to the novel, but that tends to be the way things are when someone adapts a Michawl Crichton novel for the big screen. Actually, this seems to be a bit of a rule that applies to John Grisham novels as well.

It's interesting that you bring Michael Crichton up, because another film I truly enjoyed was the 13th Warrior. Now the movie doesn't follow the book verbatim, but I think it follows the theme of the book very well, while still remaining a stand up film on it's own.

As for Rising Sun, I guess you'll just have to see the film Sammi, and judge it for yourself.

I plan to check it out as soon as I get the chance. n_n

And for the record, I really enjoyed the 13th Warrior. I thought it was a really, really good flick. And I wish more people understood the perspective of movie makers before they complained that movies weren't totally like books. If you make a movie that is exactly like a book, it's typically going to run way too long and make for a really bring movie.

No kidding. If people want something that follows the book exactly, the only way for that to be feasible is to make a miniseries or something that gives you time to have every little thing.
That being said, I really enjoyed The 13th Warrior too. 🙂

13 Warrior rawked. But then again, so did Beuwolf (think I got the spelling right...)

Ex I can handle. SS I'll just insult back. You, however, have some cred as a booksmart individual, something neither one of them have.

Plus you've been correcting me way longer😛
