The portal is generally used to transport held prisoners over from the other planet to here for them to be experimented on. Since the prisoners are brought under armed guard probably any security is largely uncessary here. Then of course even if a prisoner did escape on the first planet its highly unlikely he or she would wish to teleport over to the planet where they want to experiment on him/her. 😀 😀 😛
