The Self Referential Thread

Good today, Kurch. I hope it got cooler there for you. 😀 😛

Yes it did thankfully. 😀 😛 Sorry if I was bit grumpy yesterday. Sometimes taking care of mom and dad and starting a business gets to be a bit much. 😉

😀 😀 😛

Don't worry about it, Kurch. We understand how stressful that can be. 😀 😛

Ike was a huge one, it filled the whole Gulf of Mexico. Not many that big, fortunately. 😀 😛

One that large at Category 4 or 5 would have been a horrible catastrophe. 😱
😀 😛

I remember only one hurricane causing a lot of damage in New Jersey the whole time I was growing up there. They usually don't get that far north with much strength. 😀 😛

I think the last thing close enough to hurricane status to hit LA was in 1934 or so. Most hurricanes cant make the treck up from Mexico to our area. San Diego is a bit more vunerable.

😀 😀 😛

I have experienced an earthquake while visiting L.A. I was actually in Pasadena at the moment it began.
😀 😛

It wasn't centered in Pasadena, that's just where I was. It was strong enough to shake the whole building and make the hanging light fixtures move like pendulums, but nothing broke. It lasted about 30 seconds. 😀 😛

Was in 1994? If it was then it was probably the Sylmar Quake. That was about 6.7. 😀 😀 😛

I was sleeping at my cousin's house in Pasadena. She and her husband have since moved to Altadena. 😀 😛
