Render is the term used when a 3d Art program actually computes the image of a scene for saving.

It can. One renders still images or video. Video takes a lot more of course.

Things with lots of reflections and refractions in them take more time. Because the computer has to calculate where all the light beams are bouncing off. 😀 😀 😛

For example I did a video of a crystal rotating in a mirrored box. For 30 seconds of video it took a week and a half of rendering. 😱
