Hollywood writers are not allowed to be 40 or older? 😱

Its a Hollywood thing. Some how if you are 40 you suddenly cant know what new or hip or be in touch with whats going on. I have heard of writers even hiring younger people to present their ideas so they will get accepted.

Sounds equivalent to the "cover groups" of the 1950's who played other people's songs to have acceptable faces on the album cover (except it's age instead of race that needs to be disguised).

Yes very similar. There is a lot of agism especially in Hollywood. Even in chemistry. Many companies wont hire chemist over 40. Afraid they wont get the years out of them they would like. The ironic thing about age discrimination is its the one minority everyone ends up belonging to eventually.
