For an HP brand computer it might be worth it. If the warranty is from HP thats not too bad I dont think I would trust a warranty from Radio Shack. 😀 😀 😛

I am keeping my options open for a new laptop I am on the tiger direct site now They still have laptops with XP Pro on them

Tiger Direct and NewEgg are great places to buy from. I cant buy from NewEgg anymore cause they are located in CA and the sales tax is now like 10%. 🙁

Oh yea. There are parts of LA where the sales tax is over 11% i think. They want to raise it even more. 😱

Among states rated to being favorable to small businesses CA was ranked 49th LOL

Toshiba is good. Get XP Pro if you can.😉

Here is what I found out about the downgrade

Many desktop and notebook computers are shipped with Microsoft Windows Vista Business, but come with the Downgrade Right to Microsoft Windows XP Professional included. What this means is that the system comes with Microsoft Windows Vista Business (it includes Windows Vista media, and Windows XP Professional).

To use the provided Windows Vista Business, or to use the Downgrade Right to Microsoft Windows XP Professional, simply start the system and follow the provided instructions. On select systems, you may have the option of starting the system with XP, and on others it may require installation of XP. Refer to the startup guide or other instructions for details.

Yea I didnt think that promise was gonna hold true. 😛

That sounds mighty complicated. Cant you just get it with XP. Also find out if you get the original disk for XP or Vista. I dont like to buy systems that dont have thier own copy of Vista or XP. 🙂

It assists the main CPU with video and graphics operations. For gaming and for artist its essential. Trouble is too Vista added so much graphics garbage into their OS so almost everyone needs one unless you stay with the very basic Vista Home basic. 🙁
