What was your day like Helena? Inquiring minds wanna know 😀 " 😛
Hi Helena.How are you hun.
😀 😛
Zoddy,
I'm going to tell you, and as you read this keep in mind that you asked! 😀
In school we did a lab called dependent patient transfers. It's basically moving a patient that cannot get out of bed from on place to another safely using various techniques.
We did a three-person carry.
We did a lift and shift where we use a draw sheet to segmentally move a person from one flat area to another that is the same height.
We also learned how to use a hydralic lift to transfer a patient from a wheelchair to bed, and a bed to wheelchair.
The icing on the cake was when we practiced on the grass outside taking wheelchairs apart and then reassembling them under a time limit. Kind of like assembling a rifle. First you show it to the instructor and then you demonstrate its working correctly.
How was your day, my darling?
Remember
Use your legs when lifting
My day was fine my dear Drove about 400 miles 😀 😛
I'm still working on getting my leg strength to where I'd like it to be, but I keep the load close to me. I need more practice. The hardest is when a patient is on the ground. The higher up the patient is, the easier the move.
When I got home I was exhausted. LOL
400 miles is a long way. Where are you tonight?
I'm fine, too, Helena. I will be out of town for the weekend. 😀 😛Hi Millie. I am doing great, and I hope you are as well.😀 😀 😀 😀
Hi Kurchiecakes! I'm doing well. How are you and your parents? I know you are always up to something. What are you doing today?😀
