The Self Referential Thread

The TMF had become sluggish and crashed often in early December 2004. The owner (Jeff) investigated and found out that the TMF was using almost all of its allotted disc space for storage of existing posts. It then had about 500,000 posts total. The search function was disabled and photo attachments were disallowed as a temporary fix.

But the TMF remained sluggish and still crashed frequently. So the Moderators decided to bite the bullet and get rid of almost all the posts in the Silly Stuff Forum (which had a different name back then, I think).

Over 200,000 posts were deleted on the evening of December 15, 2004. 😱

Over 47,000 of those posts were mine. 😱 🙁 🙁 I went from over 52,000 posts to just over 5,000 posts.

Newer technology makes disc space much cheaper now and TMF has had no such problems lately, nor will we. 😀 😛

Did you see the story of the Great Pruning, Helena? 😀 😛

Back then the TMF had a much smaller server and the Silly Forum was taking up much too much room. So they trimmed a lot of the posts on the forum and deleted every silly thread not on the first 3 pages. Fortunately someone posted and this thread was not one of the ones deleted.

😀 😛

OMG. I wasn't posting around that time in the silly stuff. I didn't start actively posting until around 2006. That's an awful story. :roseglasses:

Yes Millie. Thank you. I think you just missed my post because you were searching. 😀 😀 😀

Exactly my feeling. I needed to say it was treason no matter what replies I get. Thank you very much for your support. 😀 😛

Why should you regret saying what is true and right? If I may ask, why did you need to wait and calm down? :redheart:

In the past, when I said what I believed to be true and right, I regretted inspiring some truly vile anti-American rants in the P&R Forum in response to my posts. For example, there was a Dutch poster, no longer active, who posted that he laughed whenever he heard of an American soldier being killed anywhere in the world.

I needed to wait a few days and calm down to be able to post something calm, without any swearing, without asking for blood vengeance, and without contemplating the repeal of the 8th amendment so that Hasan could be subject to many cruel and unusal punishments.

😀 😛
