The AI program was supposed to classify the parts of speech of each word in every sentence it was given. It apparently thought that a horse was flying in the same manner as molasses. 😀 😛

Those items were probably used to test true comprehension. To see if the program in question has some semblance of sentience.

I would like to see an AI program that understands, "I love oysters" to mean "I love to eat oysters" while also understanding "I love dogs" to mean "I love dogs as companions and friends."

I would guess AI is too literal 😀 😛

The ones I've seen are too literal and don't have the cultural knowledge data base to differentiate between the oysters and dogs I mentioned above. 😀 😛

Its very hard to be sure when something is understood at a fundemental level. At what point does a computer program move beyond a bunch of information in a data base and go into a mode of deep understanding. Programmers use tricky things like oysters and dogs to probe that grey area.
