I don't put everybody that I disagree with on my Ignore List. Just the really odious people.

It takes a lot for me to put someone on ignore usually for the reasons that you gave that I like to read their posts elsewhere. However when the debate gets personal and they are just calling me names the ignore list grows very fast. 😛

My ignore list was about two for like 6 years. Only recently has it shot up to about 6. I removed someone from about 2 months ago so it may be like 5 now. 🙂

Martin Gardner originally had a column every month in Scientific American. Notably they were math puzzles for the most part. When he retired the person that took over renamed the column Metamagical Themas. His columns covered math but also other areas of logic and literary items. It was his column that first mentioned the concept of Self Reference. Not only in math like you mention but in literature as well. 🙂
