They tend to fall into a few categories.

Some case its just a group of kids trying to show off their computer skills to their peers

Some cases its people trying to direct people to a website to infect their computers with various malware.

Some cases its just a way to try to advertise or promote a new site.

The middle one is the most dangerous. 😱
