So it seems there is a trade-off between security and utility. 😀 😛
So it seems there is a trade-off between security and utility. 😀 😛
I do always email a copy of my stories in progress to myself so they are saved on hotmail's server. 😀 😛
Yes, considering that my longest work was only 964KB, less than 1MB, I think that such a flash drive would last me over 100 years.![]()
😀 😛

I should start doing that. I lost a story just last night.

Emailing something to yourself is a quick and easy way to avoid disaster. External storage in your own home will be destroyed along with your computer in case of fire or flood.
😀 😛
I don't subscribe to a service like carbonite.com but some people have told me they are happy with them. What bad stories have you heard? 😀 😛
I can see how that would be very unfortunate, expecting data to be backed up automatically and finding none of it there after a hard drive crash. 😱
😀 😛
Yeah, I probably should start emailing myself.
After seeing one of my works reach 20,000 words, I can't go to sleep without emailing it to myself for safekeeping. 😀 😛
My longest work, Adventures With Mistress Zara and Mistress Kassandra, is over 62,000 words. 😱
😀 😛

That would be a LOT too retype.
😀 😛
Wow. I would email myself every few thousand words if it's that long.
Indeed, I emailed it to myself often, about every 5,000 words. 😀 😛
