Definitely not. I used to draw all the time back in high school and seriously considered both art school and a career in it, but I'm kind of glad it just wasn't feasible and I keep it as a hobby (though admittedly a rare hobby now, just lazy and out of practice). My cousin-in-law graduated from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) and while he does do detailing and special paint jobs on cars and things now, for a really long time he worked at an insurance office.

Yea I hear ya. I had no choice I was a Senior Chemist at medical diagnostics lab but I had to leave to take care of my folks. I am hoping to earn some much needed money working out of my house as I take care of them. 🙂

Oh wow, that's too bad. But.. family first. That says a lot about a person, I think. My little sister's profoundly disabled, so I'm probably going to have to be relatively close to wherever she's living all her life just to settle with my conscience.

It's all right. It's not even so much help her out--I mean I will if I can, but she needs to be in a home, she really does, we don't know how to help her properly ourselves and we do know of a few really good places for people with disabilities like hers--but it's just for the family thing. She KNOWS me. Even if I only visit once a week, say every Sunday or something, she knows my face and she loves me--it's like that thing with babies, when they look at their mothers sometimes and their face just lights up because they know ~oh that's Mommy and I like her!~ that's how she is. So... yanno. I may not have to personally take care of her myself but I won't let her be alone.
