Well there is a lot of skiing locations up in the mountains... like Big Bear and stuff. So cold weather stuff is available here.

The Valley usually stays pretty warm unless you head out to Palmdale, the desert is a different matter night time temps can plunge below freezing at times. Really strange you can boil during the day and freeze at night.

That can be very unpleasant if you stay out all day and get trapped with no warm clothes after dark. That happened to my brother and sister-in-law in the desert in New Mexico. 😱

Yea I been to the Mojave Desert a few times. You have to be well prepared. A very dangerous place if you are not. I watch a few Survival shows and many times the survival people say the freezing temps are harder to deal with then the heat.
