Well that is just idiotic. Wouldnt the people who produce cigarettes be more of a health risk? In my 53 years of life I dont think a truck as ever even come close to hitting me. :facepalm:

Truckers come under fire because we cause a bigger crash when we mess up. But yet the majority of time,the car driver is at fault.

I believe I had an argument similar to this with Bothersome over wanting to single out Truckers for additional taxes. It is really stupid reasoning. For the most part truckers have the safest records cause driving is what they do for a living. Secondly a truck is bigger but if its driving slower it might actually do less damage then a car which is going very fast. Thats just simple Newtonian Physics and the concept of kinetic energy.

Well I did. I think he stopped arguing when I pulled out the physics. :laughhard: Kinetic energy goes up as the square of the speed. So if there are two vehicles of the same mass and one is going twice as fast. The one going faster carries 4 times as much kinetic energy and would likely cause more damage.

Not sure why he isnt on my ignore. Maybe cause I do pretty good arguing with him.

I actually thought of sending him a link to a news story about two truckers who were killed when an SUV hit their truck last month,and asking him who is the fu(king health hazard now.

But I doubt he would get it,

Well thats very interesting article. SUV's are fairly massive and I bet it was going pretty fast so all that energy is why that SUV did as much damage as it did. As you said though I doubt he would comprehend it or likely just dismiss it.
