I am still boning up on cyber security, but it's a weekend, for crying out loud! So ... word games.

In Dan Simmons' Hyperion, the Consul reflects that "... the king could die. Or the horse could die. Or he could teach the horse to talk." He then decides, "No more whiskey.

For want of a nail, right? Now, I like horses too much to strain an innocent animal with knowledge of the language that has propagated such concepts as Original Sin, Mutually Assured Destruction and Investment Professional.

The time of salvation is long past for me. An offer of proof --

The horse could throw a shoe and come up lame. Or ...
... the bride could throw a shoe and come up an old maid. Or ...
... the air brakes could throw a shoe and tumble the train down an embankment.

But no horses were made to suffer any Knowledge of Good or Evil in the making of this post, much as they love apples.

The roads where I am were wet for the most part due to traffic. It was right around 32 F. But the CB reports said farther west,they were bad. So I called it an early day. I have plenty of time to deliver Monday at noon where I am going. 😀 😛
