Beholder like creatures are essentially a gigantic eye with many eye stalks off the main eye. Each of these eye stalks and the main eye as well can cast very powerful magics. Often they are disntegration or void spells that can often outright kill a being straight away. An Eye Lord is named as such for it has the most eye stalks amongst all Beholder like creatures and thus can cast the most spells and do the most damage. They are quite rare. 😀 😀 😛

And you are correct, Milagros, I did miss an impressive boom. As one who once spread much boom himself, I am quite impressed. 😀
 
Yes they are. HDS may have heard of them under some of there other names like Orb Master or Ocular Archmage
 
Indeed they are the Eye Lords also tend to have gaping mouths on the main eye with razor sharp teeth. 😀 😀 😛
 
Ah, the Ocular Archmage. That one I do recall. I like Eye Lord better, now that I've heard it. I've known too many good Archmages to attach that lable to so hideous a creature. *Shudders* As you may have guessed from their anatomy, disabling or blinding any of the eye stalks weakens the Eye Lord. Imperceptibly, to be sure, but as more are disabled the loss becomes apparent. It is not, however, an easy task to disable even one stalk.

Indeed HDS is right one needs to disable many of the eye stalks before one starts to notice an appreciable deterioration in abilities. Also since it is not an inherently undead or evil creature holy spells and divine light will have little effect on it. Best to stick to the nastiest conventional weapons we have.

Aye, aye, Kurch. We've got lots of explosive and incendiary shells, as well as some burning magnesium bombs that will melt its lenses. 😀 😛

I still think I have some of those copter slicer bades we used when trying to get into Methrobium's castle. Those things slayed lots of beasties before being spent. Wouldn't hurt to try them. 😀 😀 😛

Avast, beasty! *Takes advantage of the copter blade attack to rush the Eye Lord, turning on his chainsaw as he does. Upon reaching the Eye Lord, HDS sets the engine roaring and begins to saw away at an eye stalk* 😀
 
* various of my troops fire quantum singularity projections, flamethrowers, high explosives, and burning magnesium shells at the monster * 😀 😛
 
*The giant Eye Lord roars and shoots out disintegration spells from its hundreds of eyestalks. The spells destroy many of the shells and ammo coming from the Armada's troops. The eye stalks even disintergrate some of the QSP weapons the troops have. Some of the copter slicer blades get through and slash off some of the eye stalks. HDS hiding undercover of the blades sneaks in and manages to saw off more of the beasties eye stalks*
