Yeah, they try to get a bunch of free money out of you. They make a product that, under even extreme circumstances, will outlast most of the warranties they offer, and push you to buy the warranties, because it's just profit in their pocket, 99% of the time. It's why I rarely buy the extended warranties. They have to be really cheap, or part of a package deal. I've talked someone into selling me a $500 stove for $380, if I would buy the $120 warranty. Then I turned around and cancelled the warranty, after after 364 days, and got a full refund on it, getting the stove for $380, to boot. 5 years later, the stove still works fine. The extended warranty would have run out, 2 years ago.
