I have a friend from New Jersey who is used to eating in diners there and paying about $1.50 or $2 for pie or ice cream. He was upset when he came to NYC and paid $3 in a diner here. I walked him past a fancy restaurant with its menu posted in the window and told him to look at the desserts. He nearly fainted upon seeing various desserts priced from $9 to $12.

Yea there are some resturants like that here in LA too. Anything on the famed Rodeo Drive is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. 😀 😀 😛
