Magic The Gathering was basically a RPG type card game.

You had cards which could summon monsters and beings or cast spells but you need the right element cards to invoke a card. There are 6 element type cards. Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Life and Death. You form your own pack of cards which you take to play another person. There are many styles here as some cards are quite unique and do bizarre things. Usually you each bet a card and the winner takes the other persons card. You each have 20 points of health the person who hits 0 health loses that game. 😀

Yea its not a standard card game. Was a very popular game though. 😀 😛

The main card game my family plays is Texas Hold'em. Over the years, we've played many different games such as Buck, Spades, Rummy, etc.

There is a game played with a special deck called Uno that was very popular, too, but not an RPG. 😀 😛

I heard of that game but never played it.

There is an Italian Card game I played called Paga the italian word for pay. Basically everyone at the table is dealt all the cards in the deck and everyone antes up to a collective pot. You roll dice to get rid of cards. You keep rolling dice as long as you have the right cards to get rid of. If you dont have the card and the person to your right does he gets rid of his card. If you roll a 7 and dont have a 7 suit card you have to pay (hence the name of the game). First person to get rid of all their cards wins the pot. If the person next you rolls the right number and helps his neighbor get rid of his last card then they share the pot. 😀

Yea its a simple game. Usually the ante is only a penny so it never really gets that desperate for people. At least in our family it was played a lot during the holidays. 🙂
