The Central Park Conservancy actually does a good job in keeping the park clean and ready for use. 😀 😛Its good they cleaned everything up so quickly. 🙂

Actually, the Central Park Conservancy is a private, not-for-profit organization that manages the park under a contract with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, in which the president of the Conservancy is ex officio Administrator of Central Park.Nice to know there are a few government workers that actually do their jobs. 🙂

Today, the conservancy employs four out of five maintenance and operations staff in the park. It effectively oversees the work of both the private and public employees under the authority of the Central Park administrator, (publicly appointed), who reports to the parks commissioner, conservancy's president.

No wonder they do such a good job. Its not government workersI should have known better 😛 I just became a little more Libertarian. 😀
You are wise, Kurch. It is exactly because they aren't fat-assed, lazy, overpaid government workers that they do a very good job in the park. 😀 😛
Thanks. The joke here in So Cal is CalTrans found a way to save millions from the city budget. The invented a shovel that stands up all by itself. 😛
😀 😛
Very amusing.![]()
😀 😛
The place where I most often see fat, lazy, dumb civil service employees gossiping while their customers wait in line is my local Post Office. 😱
😀 😛
My friend actually visited 6 stimulus package supported construction sites in So Cal. At 5 of them there was no one there. At the sixth there were lots of workers diligently leaning on their shovels. 😛
😀 😛
I'm not surprised. Did your friend try to get this published in a local newspaper? 😀 😛
Too bad. Here the New York Times would never cover such a story for similar reasons but the NY Post might. 😀 😛No unfortunately. LA Times wont cover stuff like this. Sort of why its sometimes called the Left Angeles Times. 😉 😛

The Valley News here is usually not too bad as well. 🙂
😀 😛
Aha. I have never seen the Valley News.
😀 😛
That would explain my never seeing it while staying in Culver City. 😀 😛Its not a very big paper. Its only distributed to the Valley part of Los Angeles. 🙂

As far as I know, there is no daily paper published in Culver City.
😀 😛
You could be right, I only passed through Culver to get to LAX which was close to where I worked. 🙂
😀 😛
Besides the studios there, I've never seen anything notewothy in Culver City. 😀 😛
