Wow. 😱 Sorry to hear that. 🙁

😀 😛
Thanks, Kurch. They don't want damaged branches, barely still attached, falling down in the next gale, so it has to be done. New trees will be planted where some were lost, too. 😀 😛

You are most welcome

Well that is the best course of action I think. 😀 Good to hear they will be planting some new trees too. 🙂

That is good new trees will be planted. 😀 😛

Sound great to me.

The reason that the Central Park Conservancy works so well is that it is not a government agency but rather a private charity working in cooperation with the city. It fire its employees who don't do the job in that they are not civil service workers.

😀 😛

That does explain a lot. :laughhard: If it was run by the government you would have about 20 people leaning on shovels at the park. :roflmao:

A sensible way to do things. 😀 😛

Yes, it would be staffed by lazy, complacent, goons (with huge pensions coming from us taxpayers) if they were all NYC employees with the civil service union behind them.

Oh yeah I almost forgot the incredibly high wages and fantastic health benefits at taxpayers expense just to dig wholes and shovel dirt. 😛 😉

Yes, there are many retired city employees in their 50's or even 40's retired after 20 years' service with gold-plated health care plans for life.

Some worked hard in their 20 years and even risked their lives. But some sat on their asses and get the same pension and same health benefits that I envy.

Cops and firefighters work for their pensions. DMV workers do not. 😀 😛

Oh yes its the same here in good ol California. Gray Davis pushed a lot of union crap through. You could retire in your 40's or 50's and get 80-90% of your highest salary for the rest of your life plus life long health care. 😱

And some of the Department of Sanitation workers have cushy indoor jobs. The ones actually out on garbage trucks at 6a.m. are working hard. It depends, as you would guess, on "juice" within the Department.

😀 😛

I always remember the government worker who was getting like 100000 a year and all he did was stack coffee cups. :roflmao: They finally fired him cause he had the audacity to ask for a raise and after about being there for 10 years finally realized he didnt do anything. 😛

Exactly. Juice is a kinder word than i would use. 😀 😛

In 2008 the number of Government Union jobs passed the number of Private Sector Union jobs and its never looked back. 😱

😀 😛
