Not quite an exemption. They accept a request for postponement while classes are in session, but you have to specify an approximate date when you can serve.

I see. Does the place where you teach still pay you if you have to do jury duty if you can't get a postponement? 😀 😛

Yes, I still get my regular salary while on jury duty. That means that the state of New York doesn't pay me for the jury service. 🙁

When I had to pull jury duty back in 2006,I only got a lousy $30(roughly). My former company didn't pay me at all. :ranty:
