I am up to the eyes in checklists, warranties, contracts and receipts. Hiring has ground to a halt in my field in my area, in my age bracket, in God knows what all. I'm going to have to hire myself.

I was a chemist. Chemical and Engineering news use to have 7 pages of employment ads. Now we are down to maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of a page and most of these ads are out of the US. I been trying to start a company but not having a ton of luck. I tell people I am self unemployed. 😉 😛
 
Good to hear that the cross-country crew is all well and safe this evening.

I'm an A+ Certified electronic technician. That doesn't mean much in this age in which kids come out of high school and go into startups.

Most of us know a lot more than our certs. The trick is in capitalizing on it. I think the wedge is in security -- virus removal, dealing with rootkits and lesser malware.

I hear ya. I use to pride myself on being able to fix my own computer workstations. Progress at least electronics wise though happens at near light speed. I know there is a ton of stuff I dont know. LOL Seems progress is happening faster then I can learn stuff. 😛

Security and virus removal are in big demand. :iagree:

On my last job, they screwed me out of my vacation and made sure I got no UI. If not for family, I would be underwater right now.

I know a man with your credentials used to be able to at least sign on for a teaching job. But I do not envy teachers. Dealing with other peoples' child-raising failures is the most drastically underpaid job in all the civil services.

Yea I got screwed out of a patent when I worked doing military research. Got screwed out a patent and a publication when I worked for the medical industry. Is it any wonder I want to start my own business. LOL 😛

I looked into teaching as well. Ironically I can teach college but not high school :shrug:
