Was not a good day though. 🙁 We finally got the guy to fix our garage door and he did it for nothing. So he did us a big favor. Well my father kept bothering the guy while they were trying to work. Kept trying to get him to do other things for him and just was constantly in the guys way. So mom tried to get him back inside and well he got mad at my mom and yelled at her and well nobody on God greens earth talks to my mom like that so I yelled back at him. Trust me when I yell ..... well lets just say I have a black belt in cutting people up with words. 😉 So he told me to get out of the house. So mom is cool with me but hopefully me and the widdle baby trees are not out on the street tomorrow.

Thanks Not sure how things will proceed. Last check up the doctor said Dad was in the first stages of senility. That was almost a year ago. I fear he is losing it more and more. So I am worried about my mom and will he get violent and worried about me too if he will try to force me out of the house. Its just not a good situation.

An old friend of mine had the same problem with his Dad and he said "I know you dont want to hear this but you just have to be the bigger asshole in these situations." I guess today was the first time I really had to do that but its not easy to deal with.

Yea 🙁 Dont think its gonna get any easier cause he just does whatever he wants. Short of physically grabbing him he just wont listen. Maybe I need to find a help forum for these problems to give me some advice here. I am sure I am not alone in this.

Certainly you are not alone in having a parent who is sinking into senile dementia. My mother is as well, but it is not her nature to be violent, so she tends to get confused and anxious instead. 🙁 🙁
You ought to be able to find a forum for people in that situation.

Yea thats the big problem. He wants to do lots of stuff but he just cant anymore. He is not only putting himself in jeopardy but me and mom as well. I have a 3 inch scar on my left leg from when he tried to stack up some old junk that he insisted on keeping and that fell over and cut my leg pretty bad. I needed to take care of it myself with peroxide and some antibiotic ointment we had. He just does not want to admit he is 87 going on 88 and want to do things the way he use to.

Yea this is the bulk of the problem. He really cant see at all at this point and now he has dizzy spells, back trouble and has lost much of his strength. In addition to the mental problems. 🙁 and he still wants to operate belt sanders, grinders, chainsaws. I have tried to hide/ get rid of most of the really dangerous stuff. Just too many things where one can get into trouble 🙁
