Totally Uncalled For......

This morning at 4:10am EST, myself and a few others were in the chatroom, when who should happen to come in? Why, none other than the former founder of the TMF, our old friend Scott. Within less than a minute of his entrance, I was banned from the chatroom. As i was not speaking in the main room, I see no reason for this ejection.

My point to all of this is this has got to stop! This used to be a friendly place to come and talk with others who shared in our joy of tickling. When Scott left, everyone wanted to wish him well, and hoped he would be fine, which is all well and good. I, on the other hand, had felt betrayl to a certain degree, but I let it go and kept my mouth shut. Hey, to each their own as long as they don't infringe upon the rights of others. We all respected his wishes and his decision, even if we did not understand it.

But that action was totally uncalled for! I have no way of knowing, but more than likely, the others in the room were ejected as well. Some of you out there may try to justify his act as 'it's his chatroom, so it's his decision what to do'. NO! We respected his wishes and we're going to now be treated like squatters on his land? No, I think a little respect on Scott's part towards us is called for. It's time this crap about Scott and religion is put to rest and move on so we can do what we like and Scott can preach to the masses until he's blue in the face for all I care.

This post is not a reflection towards the current admin. I applaud the great job they've done and I will continue to support them. This post is also not intended to slight anyone's religious beliefs or to start a flame war. This post is meant solely (no pun intended) to make people aware that things like this are going on. And, admittedly, it really pissed me off and I had to blow off some steam. But I consider you my friends and figure you would lend me an understanding ear. If not, just tell me to shut up.

Slacker, I totaly agree.
I mean this is the Tickling Media Forum, not Religon. Okay it might make a good descusion, but still. Lets us talke about tickling for a change, (Not like we always do).
Although I have only been on the board a short time, I applaud the great job the current admin have done and I will continue to support them.

as far as i've heard phsyco still has total control over the chat room software. so he'll probably continue to annoy and harass us until that changes. you know what would really get his goat and put him out of the picture? just cancel the chat room feature until we get our own software. then he'll have no authority at all over any of the TMF. why is he still hanging around tickling stuff if he's seen the light anyway? just a thought for the mods.

I could close the room, but a lot of people are still able to enjoy it in it's current state, and I'd hate to cut them off, so I chose to leave the room up when Scott took it back over.

I'm working on a solution to this, one way or another it will be dealt with in the coming weeks.

You have every right to feel slighted the way you do and I don't blame you. It's a damned shame that people must act out in this way. 😡

As Myriads stated, a solution will be implimented in the coming weeks.

I had the exact same idea when I read this thread. This is a lose/lose situation. If the we closed it down, we may end up cutting some members off. If we continue to use it, we are at the mercy of the "chatroom anti-tickle martyr wannabe" lol. 🙄

Bottom line is, either way you slice it, it's going to be a sacrifice for somebody.

Agreed, WallStreet. His first couple posts after his "return" seemed to be bizarrely schizophrenic. "This place is evil and wish I never created it and you'll all burn in Hell if you don't leave, but Gosh you're doing a great job Myriads keep up the good work." This, coupled with his choice of Sauron as a screen-name (the most powerful force for evil in the Lord of the Rings) and the fact that the urls of his columns at his soapbox contain "nazgul" as part of the filepath to his accounts (the undead minions of Sauron, led by the malevolent "Witch-King") means he's done a very poor job of distancing himself from "Satanic" influences. To quote Luke Skywalker: "I sense the conflict within you, let go of your hate."

I was unaware of the meaning of Sauron and all of these other names he is now affilliated with. If this is the case then this is not just a matter of someone ramming religous views down our throat, it's the case of a very disturbed person. I am very serious and this is not one of my usual clowning posts. This man needs help. I strongly recommend that those of you that don't know him should keep it that way. Those that do know him should get him to seek help. Those who humor him are only feeding the fire. I'm not going to poke fun at this fellow anymore as it is no longer a laughing matter. I hope he finds some sort of balance.

Having had extensive chats with Scott lately, I think I can reassure you that the Sauron was more of a tongue in cheek poking fun at himself and his past then a true manifestation of a serious pyschological problem. I wholeheartedly agree that he is feeling conflicted, and think that his taking some time away from the net is an excellent choice, considering the "lure" that it has for him. Vaya con dios, for we need all the help we can get amigos..... Q

I know I might tick off some people when I say this, but I've recently been of the belief that Scott is a complete hypocrite. To me, he is obviously trying to repress a part of his sexuality. No matter what you're into, that's got to be difficult. Add to that the fact that he's trying to "save" the rest of us... well, that upsets me. I don't so much mind that he's radically changed his beliefs... that's his choice, but when it's pushed one me, that I don't like. I've tried to stay silent on this topic, but when I read that he's been blocking people out of the chatroom, I think that's going way too far. Can anyone else back me up on this?

Sauron.........wasn't he from the X-Men?

........or was it Saurion? Yeah, it might've been that......all I know is that when I saw psycho's post, I didn't think about religion, and I didn't think about ticking.....the first thought in my head was, 'man, this guy's takin names from x-men comics, damn him!!!'

So.......basically what I'm tryin to say is that, you guy's can all rest assured that the stoner population of the ticking community remains unphased by the religious stuff that's been goin on recently.....we're just too damn mellow to care 🙂

Yeah, there was a villain in that comic named Sauron. I remember it fairly well, from laughin' 'bout it as a kid. Namin' a mad scientist doin' Jeckyl and Hyde-style research after Tolkien's evil overlord seemed a bit heavy handed t'me.

On the one hand, he picked the name of a force of evil from one of the best known trilogies in fantasy literature. On the other, the silliest villain in the older part of the X-Men comic from it's first cycle. Not too swift a name. I expected better from Scott, 'cause he was, and likely still is, a bright guy.

Then again, maybe I just don't get it, 'cause I ain't a proper Christian. <*shrug*> Who knows?

.......Though you gotta admit that Sauron was a pretty bad dude in the Savage Land series of the X-Men comics. He almost kicked Wolverine's mutant ass. However, he ended up kickin the @%^#! outa everythin, and all was well in the end. DVNC, The X-Men villain Sauron wasn't named after Tolkien's character to my knowledge, but rather due to the fact that he was trying to turn himself into a dinosaur/human hybrid. And I believe the silliest old X-Men villain is not Sauron but "Unus the Untouchable," a mort whose only power was to create an impregnable force shield around himself, but absolutely no offensive capabilities beyond that. IIRC, he was last seen dying because his force field had become so strong that he couldn't get food, water, or air to pass through it. This has been MadKalnod's nugget of Geek Lore for today 😀

The origins of Sauron

This villain was introduced in issue #60 of the original X-Men series. It is actually one of the last 12 issues that Neil Adams was invited to illustrate right before they cancelled the series.

By the twelfth issue they had
1) brought back Magneto (he was dead)
2) brought back Professor X (he was very dead)
3) brought back the Sentinels, controlled by the original creator's son
4) created Havok
5) created Saurion
6) created a slew of mutants in the Savage Land.

Saurion is actually Dr. Lycos. He was supposedly helping mutants, but he was in fact absorbing their powers. He is the one who slowly killed Professor X.

Dr. Lycos got the ability to absorb other people's powers after an encounter with several flying monsters called the Pteranodons when he was a kid. He was rescuing the daughter of a guy who had hired his dad and him as guides in the "Tierra del Fuego". The girl got lost in the entrance to the Savage Land and both got attacked by the monsters.

Years later, the X-Men brought Alex Summer (brother or Cyclops), who was at the time controlling his ability to use cosmic rays as Havok, to Dr. Lycos after some fight. Dr. Lycos absorbed the powers of Alex Summers (who was one of the most if not the most powerful mutant at the time) and morphed into Saurion (a bad @$$ version of a Pteranodon).

The name Saurion most likely was derived from dinosaur because of the Pteranodon.

Somewhere, Bellarisa is laughing right now. Must've been a year or more ago we were laughin' about how many t-philes were comic readers, and makin' associations between characters and people we knew online. Was funny as hell, in a juvenile way. When you're my age, bein' juvenile is a great novelty, sparsely used.

Also oddly on-topic is DMoore, an aol user that used to have a lot of comic characters in tickling situations.

Gotta find humor in how many of us seem to be comic geeked.
