Triple T Tutorial (*/F) Nudity

Hey Gang.

Joe from the TMF asked me to do a tutorial a few weeks back, on the subject of exagerated foreshortening. The following posts are the completion of that tutorial 😛

I don't feel like I am in any position to tell other artists how to draw, so this is simply my approach to creating a foreshortened image. In fact if other artists have any different techniques they use, please speak up so we can all get better 😛

The character I used belongs to a friend of mine from Deviant Art - Fmilling. She is named Teeva, and is quite the ticklish alien. She has agreed to model her lovely feet for the purpose of this tutorial. Only one problem, I promised her there would be no tickling involved 🙁

Never Trust a Bandito

I know that I promised Teeva there wouldn't be any tickling involved.

But it just turned midnight here.

That makes it April fools, I believe. Aw hell, that's not till tomorrow night. Oh well.

BWAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Poor Teeva.

Y'all might remember Tidy Bowl - the Cleaning Bot (from an Andi promo pic, and a cameo in TOB). This pic is its triumphant return!!!!! Gotta love crazy cleaning bots

I have been meaning to do a new foot tickling pic, and a robo tickling pic. So here is one of both.

I will either do a final version of this pic with pencil shading, or maybe Lotus will color it sometime.

Either way, thought I'd post it for a fun conclusion to the tutorial.

I'd put in a demo of my own, but I'm not nearly as technical as you are B, so I do believe artists are better off with your explanation of this :super_hap Plus, you're obviously much better at catching people's attention too. Trust me, you got mine 😉 Can't wait to see the conclusion!!!

Splendid! I've added a link to this thread in our little Tutorials sticky for reference in the future. And how kind of you to leave us a little present after the tutorial, yes yes. That robot's eyes remind me a little of those Rosie of the Jetsons sported ... just a little.

Oh I really like this! Clean, clever, on-target and easy-to-follow, both visually and in text explanation... an indispensable addition to the already valuable collection of tutorials! With Teeva granting her personal encouragement (her running dialogue is hilarious!), I can see most of our forum members wanting to attempt this lesson... a spoonful of sugar, and all that! And the conclusion, sanctioned or not, is something I wouldn't have missed... a fun, fitting reward for the energy expended! Beautiful as the completed linework is, I do hope White Lotus sees fit to grace it with her full color talents... a portrait this splendid deserves all the finishing touches!

Hell yeah, I agree with LBH. Color would be great--and the actual tutorall is awesome. I can actually understand it, and you're talking to the line-draw-challanged here. 😛

Oh, and don't worry, I don't think anybody minds you're 24 hours early with a gag. It means you'll have one less to do tomorrow, which will probably put several minds at ease XD

Thanks again for using Teeva with your great art style! I might have to go through some design changes in the future with her because she looks good with shorter hair...
I still cannot thank you enough man!


But...

I can't believe you promised her no tickling would be involve!

She just has to be tickled! Her body just screams "tickle me!" from every angle. She should have known better...she must have not seen your animated avatar of course or she would have been highly suspicious of your promise!

I didn't know she was going to be used in a tutorial! Thanks for that as well! I love the way you drew her with some of the original elements in your own art style (hair, clothing..etc)

foreshortening is a great technique and i always find new ways of doing it. i find your way to be one of the most accurate ways of doing it...

lastly i love the way you've explained it almost comic style in the pics! it's informative and entertaining. Her dialog is just like i expected it to be! smart and funny!

But you won't know the full extend of what she'll say until i finish with her comic pages!

I was about to reply with a "What the F/(&%%! A Bandito piece without tickling?¿?!" That would be like the mediocre-beyond-belief Metallica 2003-s album "St. Anger" (that was guitar-solo less!)
When I continued reading I found the conclusion
amazing!
Just like Machine Head's new "The Blackening" (that I heard 2 nights ago and it's fantastic) your piece truly is a great one
About the tutorial, it's a nice gesture you take the time to explain

HDS: Thanks mate! I appreciate you copying the link over. Gracias. As far as the eyes go.... that kinda freaks me out, and I'll tell ya why. A friend suggested that I look at female robots to make my cleaning bot "sexier". He even sent a link of Rosie pics. I tried adding some details like an apron, or something, but it just didn't work for me. But I did change the eyes from the last cleaning bot pic. Your powers of observation astound me 😛 Thanks again.

LBH: Thanks my friend. I am so glad you noticed annd enjoyed the running dialog. I always like some pre-tickle banter. Especially if the banter helps the Lee to earn the tickling, as it were. I'm also really glad that the tutorial itself came out alright. This is the first time I have attempted such a project. Glad it made some sense 😛 Thanks again for your wonderful feedback.

thank you so much!! I've been looking for something involving this subject, but could you post something involving foreshortening from a 1/4-profile angle? I do intend to apply the front view information, no doubt, but I would like to know that as well.
The end result was kick ass by the way, plus you've gotten much better at drawing feet ^_^

As an artist I think it's always interesting to look at tutorials by fellow artists. This one is very thoroughly done, quite professional, actually, and with such care and attention to detail. This one could belong in a printed book.
