Just an observation for you - There's more of us in the UK. Not everyone is bold enough to post a Personals advertisement, and two of those I know, there, are involved with one another already.

Faith, folks. Keep in mind, too, that there are folks in Europe (one of whom had shown for my gathering in London years ago). Given that I have found a Canadian love, y'never know where the one for you will be.

I've further faith that BigJim will do his best to see you folks all meet and socialize. The more of that you have, the more likely that you'll meet others... but that's for the Gatherings section of the forum.

Let's hope so D, let's hope so. It's an uphill struggle at the moment, not so much a steep hill as a vertical one.

The biggest problem is the utter lack of females who would like to meet for a drink and something to eat. There are a couple that I know of, but timings can be difficuly.

To all the UK based people out there, here is a heartfelt plea. Please don't imagine that the instant you show your face round the door that 30 blokes will pounce on you. What is in the pipeline doesn't even necessarily involve tickling at all. We'd actually be meeting in a Harvester or the nearest Hungry Horse pub for a meal and some lubrication. (Wine and beer that is, not baby oil! ) Hopefully some closer friendships will develop from that and the rest will be history.

At the moment the likelyhood is, that it'll be happening in the north of England. More british TMF members seem to live there than in the south. It might also be held in London, because nearly everywhere has a motorway or train that goes there. London might be the most accessible option, all round.

Well jim - providing I can get there ( have no transport) and have the £ so to speak, I'll certainly do my best to get there. But I must admit I'd feel rather better about it if I wasn;t the only girl. Thats the one thing stopping me right now - despite knowing it's only for a good ol knees up. Keep us all posted though. And Hey Neb where abouts are you in Surrey?

I'm up here in Sth Yorkshire, but used to live in Richmond during my college days - still have family in Twickers though. Am originally from down Sth - London and Hertfordshire. A travelling tickler you might say (well I would be if I had transport - aaawwww). Maybe get to meet you at one of Jims get togethers in the future.

Right now, that is the biggest thing that we need to work on. The reticence of female, british ticklephiles is the biggest thing stopping us ever getting together.

A suggestion for you British women - meet with the organizer of this event, for tea, lunch, or something else in a restaurant. Do it mid-day on a Saturday. Meet the man that's attempting to sort this all out for you folks, and get comfortable with him.

Many's the time I've met someone one-on-one 'cause they were nervous about a group. You have but to ask. Worst case, you have the only lunatic that's organizing a social event and DOESN'T wanna meet you. I doubt this will happen, somehow.

Keep in mind that it's JUST a meet. No obligations or expectations. You'll quite likely make a friend in all this. Several, if it's anything like the West Coast Gatherings.

Ticklemad, bein' that you're the woman bold enough to stand forward, might I suggest you ask BigJim to meet you somewhere local to you? It gets things started, you see, and once they're moving, they tend to keep moving. Inertia, and all that.

D, I'll add my voice to that too. The "Sense Of Adventure?" and the "UK Tickling" threads have generated some very good posts and it's a pleasure to see that so many people in the TMF DO exist in Britain.

I also think that that was quite a good idea of yours. I think that the idea of a meeting simply to do do some face-to-face organising is even less threatening than the idea of a social gathering. Yet another step down the ladder, so to speak.

Rainbow, do you also like Dave's suggestion? Drop another post here and leave your thoughts about it to.
