What are the downsides to tickling?

In view of an array of responses which will be a variation on the theme, 'Tickling is good man, there's nothing bad about it,' I urge you optomists to rack your very brains to think if there are any negatives to the beautiful habit. Please note, this isn't a question simply of, 'what's the worst thing about being tickled/tickling somebody?', it's a question as to what are the downsides of tickling as a whole.

I'll start you off. For me, one of the downsides of tickling is that, on a wider scale, it isn't accepted as THAT normal. By that I don't mean that anybody who tickles is considered a weirdo, but generally you see two people tickling you assume that they are either together or exceptionally close. With that being a social perspective, it makes it hard to engage in any form of tickling (talking, doing...) with anybody that you don't know. The fact that for many it's considered sexual adds to this feeling.

So yeah, for me its main flaw is that it generally isn't commonly enough seen to be perfectly acceptable. It's like kissing in that it's right up there on the ways to show affection. What about you?

Only one down side for me. its impossible to find an attractive girl, who is not only horribly ticklish, but loves it as well. someone thats fairly local as well.

The loudness can sometimes get the cops called on you, and the many bathroom breaks because of laughing's effect on putting pressure on your bladder. Sorta disrupts the mood.

That's why you sound proof your home and you dont' drink anything for a day or so before a real good tickle session.:tickle:

Hmm. I definitely don't consider abnormality as a downside of anything.

The fetish is kind of weird, though. I don't think it's the case that everyone has a tickle fetish and only a small percentage merely isn't repressing it.

If tickling isn't "designed" to be sexy, then there must be some reason for it to occur in the people it does, and there's room for investigation. It strikes me as strange that so many people seem to mention that "they have no idea where their fetish came from," and show no further interest in knowing. It's like not wondering why the earth is round, or the sky is blue.

That would be the downside that strikes me first; of course, it's not insurmountable.

That many see it as a 'kids thing" or childish and that if you're an adult it's not appropriate.

A downside for me, and perhaps some others is that it narrows my range of future relationships, and eventually a wife.
Because tickling is apart of me as a person and how I am sexually I could never be happy in a relationship with someone that was not either into what I like or at least accepting of it and willing to compromise.

I have turned down several women in the last year because I felt they would not be accepting of my love for tickling. I did not have to ask them directly, but I can get the signs of someone not being into something, or in at least 3 cases they were not ticklish at all.

The downside for me is that I have to laugh so much. 😀
Seriously, I'd love the ticklish sensation to go on like forever, but the laughing gets so exhausting after a while, that I need the tickling to stop or need to get a break at least 😉

Main downside is...

That if the lee has bad breath and you're near them it goes EVERYWHERE! :xlime: Well that, and what has already been said, but mainly that. 😀

Cops?? Damn! Tryed a gag? Hehe!
And a little idea for the bathroom thing. Let the lee do her buisness before the session. And when the lee then is "empty", you can start the session. Laughter and tickling causes you to dry out pretty fast, so let the lee have something to drink during small breaks. For me that works out perfect, cause then the lee will sweat out the moust of the water instead of having to go to the bathroom. 🙂

Umm... Having to stop? :upsidedow

:bowing: Best so far! Haha!

I agree about tickling being viewed as a 'childish' act, or something only done between two individuals who are very close.

I have been in a few situations where I have tickled a female friend, and gotten a weird look after, like, "What are we? Seven years old?"

And tickling a girl you have recently met is never received with good reactions after.

One friend I am very close with, she knows I am not against tickling her, but she hates it, and depending on her mood, she can get very ugly after. But, there was one time where I pinned her legs and tickled her nylon feet (she had made fun of me, so this was payback). Tickled her for a good 30 seconds or so, and she was fine with it after. She was still laughing post-tickling, and even said, "THAT was torture!" in a fun tone.

LOL. Haven't had that particular reaction happen to me yet. (Knock on wood!)

I guess these are some of the risks of tickling random women we date--as opposed to "tried-and-true" ticklephiles. For every success story we see posted here, I'd wager there are probably many, many more unsuccessful ones. And those probably range from mild disinterest or lack of ticklishness to full knock-down drag-out arguments that threaten to make one bury their tickle fetish away forever.

Back on topic, I'd have to agree that tickling being a "stealth" fetish of sorts is something of a downside. It's below the radar (e.g., childish, innocent, or just lame) to some, so they don't view it as a legitimate sexual fetish. But honestly, having any fetish seems somewhat unfortunate to me. It just ultimately ends up limiting your options for good sexual partners, IMO.

One major downside is that many girls, who aren't into tickling themselves, hate to be tickled, so if you tell a girl who isnt into tickling, that you like tickling, many times the reaction will be "OMG, I hate to be tickled, dont do that to me". It's not often you get a girl who will embrace being tickled, unless she's into it.
