I'm looking at all the candles on Here and generally getting all stoked for the fall/winter months.

Cinnamons, Apples, Cranberry spices-- all those types of scents are my favorite. Perfume wise and just smells around the house.

I don't care for "oceany smells". And I like some fruit smells. But, all in all I prefer the 'spice' scents we find from the months of September through December.

That and my main perfume is Chanel No 5.

What are some of your preferred scents or smells?

fresh paper, petrol, pizza, 3 of my favs i have odds taste. 🙂

i don't care much for 'oceany' smells either because that's all i get in my location..

I use a scent called Gravity, i think it's by Calvin Klein, well it seems to woo girls so i digg it 🙂

For general smells, walking into starbucks, good gasoline, new car, "freshly opened computer component" (if that can actually be categorized), and whatever it is a dozen of my girl friends put on their hair.

If I'm burning incense, I tend toward stuff that evokes the wilderness; pine, rain, stuff like that. I also really dig the smell of match smoke for some reason. And leather, can't forget that.

I rarely wear cologne, but if I'm going somewhere semi-formal, I'll sometimes use a tiny amount of Polo.

I do like ocean scents~born and raised on the beach I was and I can't shake that. But my signature scent is coconut. If that's not available then vanilla and any variation of it will suffice.
XOXO

I can't get down with leather. For some reason it gives me a headache.

Although strangely enough, I don't mind the smell of gasoline.

My mother makes this really good spaghetti sauce, so that's another smell I enjoy.

Before I had my birds I used Jasmine scented candles in the winter months. Other than that I like the faint smell of a fireplace in the distance and the smell of pies baking.

I've worked in strip bars too long. I like vanilla. I generally like spice scents. Not too keen on flowery things. Not surprisingly, one of my favorite scents comes from the drag strip...I absolutely love the watery eye giving scent of a car running on methanol.

I rather like cinnamon and apple myself. General baking/cooking smells, no matter the item, are also favorites. I enjoy cooking and since those come with it I enjoy them. While I have lived on the ocean (and sort of still do) for much of my life I do enjoy ocean scents on occasion. The smell you get on a late-night beach walk is much different from the daytime one and much nicer, in my opinion. The smells of rain and snow, if you can smell such (I seem to think so) are also rather nice. Snow paired with the stillness in the air that sometimes accompanies it is quite nice.

The smell of burning wood from a distance is a good one for me. Also, I like vanilla, citrus of any kind, and garlic.

The nape of a lady’s neck after some fruit, brie, and a bottle of wine by the fire!

Live Christmas trees, cookies baking, also spices, a clove cigarette burning in the distance. Those are a few off the top of my head. I'm currently wearing Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana.

I like fresh/oceany smells like linen and spring rain. I also like freshly mowed grass and good ole southern barbecue. I love the smell of cherry tobacco for a pipe.

My favorite colognes are Happy by Clinique, Armani Mania and all the Burberrys.

You hit my material weakness....perfume!!!

If there's one thing that will make me tick...leaving the house without a dub of perfume on is like wearing no underwear or wrist watch. It matters much to me.

I love perfumes that smell like very faint flowers...

Cooking garlic
Rosemary
Fresh Basil
Fresh coffee
Those scented candles from Bed, Bath & Beyond...especially the tobacco and bergamot scented one.
A glass of port
Wood burning fireplace
Most of Jo Malone's perfumes...especially the ginger & nutmeg or grapefruit.

Anything freshly baked (or walking into a bakery) just great

Cheddar Cheese (weird, yes, but quite tasty as well)

And the smell of wet/cold autumn:When I walk outside and theirs a slight mist in the air, maybe some dew on the ground and you inhale deeply. It's cold and smells wet and like pine trees and dirt. It's so awful its good.

Oh yeah, and Hard A... any well-mixed drink usually smells terrific.

I buy Yankee Candles too, we have them over here and I totally agree with you have to go with the spices, whenever I buy a candle its either like a cookie scent loaded with cinnamon and I also like vanilla.

Other scents I like are freshly cut grass, pine (from a real Christmas tree), baking, bread, the smell of books/magazines and the smell of my fella.

The perfumes I love are 'Angel' by Thierry Mugler and I also like 'Classic' by Jean Paul Gaultier and I've been partial to Chanel too including Madamoiselle and Coco. I feel naked if I step out of the house without a dab of perfume on, I love scents on blokes too. I don't like florally scents I always go for the ones with spice and vanilla.

wow, really strange that you posted this, jo. i was just thinking about starting a thread on this exact subject a day or two ago! you beat me to it! 🙂 while i do like the scents from candles, i also like certain insences (if that's even a word) like dragon's blood, mehr, and others. i also love smelling the ocean on the beach and, oddly enough, campfires. the smell of the air after it rains is very nice, too. very clean smelling.

I like the smell of gasoline, baking bread, and a good roast (beef or pork) ... usually not at the same time ...

In terms of my cologne, it's classic Polo ... so nice
