I realize you didn't invoke me (a wise decision, in my opinion)

Whether invoked or not Q, your input is always welcome. Feel free to comment on any remarks I make, no matter how much you disagree with them.

but I felt that this comment needed to be disputed outright. The mechanisms for stirring the US populace that are already in place are sufficient without crashing planes into multi billion dollar buildings and sacrificing thousands of lives. Given Saddams uncanny ability to stuff his foot into his mouth on nearly all subjects, your basic premise shows itself as flawed. Post war evidence that he didn't possess WMD makes him look even more foolish. Kicking the sleeping bear without having a gun is idiotic and a sure sign of being a pyschopath...

If for some reason the government wanted to declare war on say, Canada or Britain, THEN perhaps an act of this magnitude would be needed to galvanize the public....but for Iraq? You're stretching BJim, and the rubber band has snapped.

Q

In what way do you mean he kicked the sleeping bear? Not sure I follow that exactly.

Anyway, the action wasn't just done for Iraq. It was done as a whole motivator for declaring war on fundementalist Islamic terror groups. (Which as I said, was to give carte blanche to any country who could have a trumped up charge of harbouring or co-operating with terrorists against them.) Afghanistan was first, then Iraq, I'm sure more will follow. And considering the amount of public opposition to the ill-motivated War on Terrorism, it seems that the public weren't convinced enough, rather than already too convinced. I'm not deliberately being fascetious Q, but I really don't understand what you mean. Given the huge numbers at protest marches across the West and the huger number of letts of complaint and petitions being sent in, how do you mean that such an act of magnitude wasn't required? If it truly wasn't, wouldn't public support be a lot stronger?

But anyway, you disagree with me and that's fine. Your perogative and your right. I'd never presume to deny anyone that. I may be wrong. I truly don't believe I am, but I'm not omnipotent. I just voice my opinion based on what my research has led me to conclude.

Opposite conclusions...

Not a problem Jim, we can discuss topics without overt rancor or venom. I maintain that stirring up enough emotion about Islamic terrorism and Iraq didn't require knocking down buildings and attempting to swat the nations capital. If I were setting it up I wouldn't need anything other than the previous decades activites thorughout the world at our embassies and of course at the base of the WTC in the mid 90's. We're basically a warrior nation whose passions are easily stirred by a dynamic speaker in conjunction with the media. An experienced operative/politician would have had sufficent supply even without Saddams constant mouthiness and barely concealed threats. A few tapes promising graphic jihad and a handful of captured cell leaders and the process would be complete.

Basically even given your parameters, these acts are overkill. as I said before, I'd need them if I wanted to launch a strike on a previous ally, not the targets that were actually attacked..*shrug*...it just doesn't hold water even for diabolical manipulation.

The current mood here wouldn't allow us to attack another nation unless they had troops massed on one of our borders, so apparently the entire thing has blown up in your theorized plotters faces.....

Q

That's about the size of it I reckon. I know you don't literally believe in what I'm talking about, but what you just said is summat I agree with totally.

My personal opinion is that the Illuminati/Elite/bastards/gits/knob-ends/dipshits are getting pretty desperate. For that reason we are going to see even more extreme shit wreaking havoc in our countries, as the agenda to control is advanced even further. Unfortunately for them, they're fighting a losing battle with blunted weapons. Although you'll see people with Harvard, MIT and Oxbridge degrees of the finest sort among them, these people can be staggeringly infantile. They truly don't know what is going to hit them.
Unfortunately the outrages we have to suffer will get much worse before the situation improves. They'll try to reinforce failiure with the same tactics, which will be extremely unpleasant for us in the short term. I'm pretty certain that a war with China will be engineered to some degree, and we're going to see our own countries turn anyone who dissents from the party line into reactionary subversives. That means a lot more Guantanomo Bay situations, people arrested for merely daring to voice an opinion and getting called terrorists, and complete erosion of everyone's freedoms.

But unlike what some people have said I believe, I am not actually saying these people are omnipotent. They aren't anything, unless we let them be it and people are starting to object to all this crap being shoved down their throats. Tony Bleurgh and Gee Double-ewe are fending off the attacks against their integrity that are gradually becoming too hot to handle. So it ain't all gloom and doom. It's actually a wonderful time to be alive. :bouncybou :woot: :grouphug:

Thanks for the chat Q. It's always a pleasure to disagree with a true gent. 🙂
