There are no new ideas, Karen!

It's an indie film and has been well-received, if I recall, at festivals and by critics. Most such indie darlings usually end up being disappointments (see: Little Miss Sunshine), but this is still one I'd like to see. It looks like it could be smart and fun.

the hollywood brother is not going to see this movie but the hollywood brother swears that he remembers a cartoon with two hero robots that came out of the ground and were summoned to save the day. The hollywood brother thinks the name was tranzar Z but could be wrong. the main thing in this children's show was for the female robot to fire two powerful rocket missles that alwas caused descruction. the interesting part was the weapons were the robots potentially ticklish breats! This robot would go from being stacked to flat chested after a fight in which she launched her weapons! the hollywood brother isn ot making this up! also if the hollywood brother description is offending anyone then the hollywood brother apoligizes but the hollywood brother remembers watching this show as a young hollywood brother

the hollywood brother also remembers one other thing about the cartoon that the hollywood brother was describing and that was that the male robot could literally fist someone. his fist would fly off his wrist and hit someone. now as a hollywood brother wasted youth young punk, the hollywood brother liked it but did not know why. now as a rock and roll tickle king the almighty hollywood brother can see how good and sick this cartoon really was

well no, actually. it was a re-make of 2004 Japanese movie.

It won the 2008 Gérardmer Film Festival "Special Jury Prize," and the 2007 Sundance Film Festival "Special Jury Prize" under the dramatic category. It almost won the film festival award equal to "picture of the year" and it was and indie-film that got a lot of coverage. so don't be mad at hollywood any more than you have to... and you do have to.
 
Hmm... I think the next year's award will go to "Timothy, the oversized, mutated corkroach in wheelchair that saved the world."
 
Isn't it pretty much a given that the more wierded out the idea, the more awards it wins at Indie festivals?

And Karen, nothing surprises me out of TV, Cable, Hollywierd, and indie film makers. I've been watching those sausage grinders since the '70s. About the only thing left for them to do for any shock value or 'originality' is a live human sacrifice. Hence, why I watch very little TV besides sports and Dancing with the Stars and why we don't have cable in our house. Last thing I need is an open sewer pipe in my living room.

Oh crap...now I've given them an idea for the next winer at Sundance...LOL
 
This is not the first killer "organ" movie to be released, i seem to remember a movie on tv where some old hag or witch turns a man's tallywacker into a snake like creature that would latch on to peoples faces until they suffocated.

Is it? I mean, other award winners at Sundance have included Grace Is Gone, Murderball, The Squid and the Whale, You Can Count On Me, Hurricane, The Spitfire Grill, The Brothers McMullen, Hoop Dreams, Ruby in Paradise, and The Waterdance--all pretty conventional concepts (and some of them very blandly executed as well).

Meanwhile, I agree that the entertainment industry turns out a lot of pernicious crap (torture porn movies, virtually all reality TV programs, and the aforementioned Little Miss Sunshine), but there's a tremendous amount of good stuff being created there nowadays, including many movies as well as TV shows like Deadwood, Battlestar Galactica, and 30 Rock. I'd no more want to exclude TV and film from my cultural diet than I'd want to stop reading just because some books are crap...
